Spanked or Grounded?

I haven't had a spanking since January. This morning I got in trouble and my mom took me to my room and told me I had a choice of being spanked or grounded for a week. After thinking it over I chose to get a spanking and get it over with.

I was wondering if anyone gets to choose and what choice you make. If you get or got spanked did you ever cry before your spankings?

My parents never really bothered with that sort of discipline, it was more getting privileges taken away like my TV or something. They'd only take it for a couple days and stopped when I paid for all my stuff. I've never been spanked, I was never grounded either, mainly because they couldn't and I wouldn't have listened anyway. I was a hard child and young teenager to deal with and it's only now that I'm an adult myself that I realise what a dick I was honestly. However, I think because I didn't get ''punished'' I actually learnt to listen to them rather than being sneaky or lying or whatever. I would have no doubt crossed so many boundaries if I was actually disciplined like that. I grew up really young anyway so there was never any point in that sort of thing. If I did however, have the choice, I'd choose grounding every time.

I got spanked up until I was about 7 or 8, then I started getting grounded. My parents stopped grounding me (and disciplining me for the most part) shortly after I turned 17. Nowadays when we disagree about something or when they're mad at me we'll have these huge verbal fights with a bunch of screaming and hollering, and my mom will basically ignore me for the next week or so. My dad will just forget about it and we'll go on like normal the next day.

I've only been grounded once in my whole life and that was after I got a good spanking. My parents have always relied on physical punishments as a form of discipline, but I haven't gotten spanked since I was 13. Nowadays, I don't really get in trouble, but if my mom is angry at me for what ever reason, we'll just yell at each other and then forget about it.

Ive been grounded loads of times, never 'spanked'. I think its more of an American thing. When I was younger I'd get a slap across my backside by my parents if they could catch me, but never placed over a knee and 'spanked'

Mostly spankings for me since a grounding is like punishment for everybody lol But depended where I was and what I did and who was there to find out about it. Its not something I tell a lot of people about spankings because some people freak out about abuse. Its not so don't worry.
the thing with spankings is that they are over pretty much right away and groundings take forever. But embarrassments of spankings take a while to get over to lol

I get spanked and grounded too, but my parents don't let me choose my punishment. I think you are brave to choose the spanking. In the end it's the "get it over" punishement you described but I'm not sure if i would have the courage to tell them that i'd choose the spanking.

I've actually never been grounded, and I actually haven't been spanked for several years now. I don't know what it is, but I just haven't gotten in trouble often. I'm not perfect or anything, I guess I'm just good at not getting caught. But whenever I do get in trouble, my parents just normally lecture me or whatever. Otherwise they don't really care or I don't get in trouble.

The last time I got spanked was when I was twelve.

After that my dad switched to giving me a single open-handed smack at the side of my head whenever I do something that he doesn't approve of. Like get a bad grade on a test, or interrupt him while he's talking, etc.

I don't get grounded because I never really leave home all that often (I mean, I pretty much never leave home).

I sometimes get a choice between getting hit and having my dog (or one of my other pets) stay at my dad's friend's for a week (which is terrible for me, I love my pets, and severely miss them when they're gone).

So I always choose to get hit, and yes I do sometimes cry before he hits me. But it depends on how angry he looks.
