I've been through a lot of bad friendships and I feel like I can't trust anyone because they will screw me over, hurt me, or use me. I really isolate myself from others in general. What can I do to think differently?

I can't say much here because I'm the same way. I've been fucked over by so many people, many of them very close to me, that I'm skeptical of everyone. But sometimes those walls aren't such a bad thing, they can help protect you from bad people. On the other hand, they can also keep you away from good people. All I can say is, you have to find the right level of trust to put into people. Start off with little to no trust, and let them prove to you that they are worth trusting. That could take days, weeks, months, whatever. If you can't bring yourself to trust them after a good period of time then it's likely not because of you, rather it's possible that they're just not worth trusting. Like I said, I think being a bit untrustworthy is a good thing, but you have to find the right limit for it.

I'm the same, I've been in a bad friendship group before about 6 years ago and since then I've never really been in a friendship group, I've been alone. I am afraid to trust which is why I now find it hard to make friends or be in a relationship.

I feel the same way because of my past experiences with bullies. It sucks.
