if there's one thing that really sticks in my craw, it would have to be the generation known as the Baby Boomers. they're a gift that just keeps on giving, but not in a good way.

firstly, as kids they decided to stick their middle fingers at Mom & Dad and FREE LOVE MAN and became commies and thought they were hard as fuck. then after they grew up a little more they realized that---aw shit---the meat grinder otherwise known as the USSR wasn't going to bring world socialism anytime soon, and became "neoconservatives", the most vile of vermin. as the poop icing on the shit cake, they decided to splurge on a fancy, super-exclusive welfare state just for themselves, and tossed the bill in the trash bin. these same people would bellow with rage whenever there was talk of having "Medicare for everyone." that's communism!

so of course, the next generations are saddled with that enormous bill. but it doesn't matter that wages have stagnated, or that the boomers elected an Ayn Rand fanboy who slashed taxes and sent many middle-class jobs overseas. it also doesn't matter that the cost of living is high and wages are low. "why don't you just go out and pick a degree in astrophysics from the degree tree and go make lots of money!" recommends Dad. "I did it back when I was 18..." if Boomers like him didn't spend so much time in the Fox News alternate reality, it would very obvious that things have gone super downhill since then, in ways that are not good for the average person who aspires to an average middle-class life. I poke fun at millennials a lot but even we don't share all of the blame for our abysmal condition. even those of us who want to make something of ourselves are hindered.

at a time when many "middle-class" families are teetering one unexpected hospital bill away from the soup kitchen, granny can roll up to the pharmacy in her new Cadillac and load up on free pills that would cost a small fortune to someone half her age. shitty deal. but, "fuck you, got mine!" says granny.

you folks that have access to universal healthcare are l u c k y. please don't take that for granted.

It's about medical care.

I'm not expecting many baby boomers to get on and offer a counter though.
