What would you like to see in the next Elder Scrolls game? Not TES online, but the actual next game in the series. Where should it take place?

I loved Skyrim, but here are my main gripes and what I'd like to see in the next game.

1: The quests were too easy. I don't mean combat-wise, the combat was actually pretty fucking good. I just mean how they never took any initiative of the DB's part, no creativeness. They just held your hand throughout the entire game. In Morrowind, you got directions and a map. That's it. Literally just directions and a map, and the towns didn't even show up on it until you went to them. Want to find a certain quest item? You better ask around town and reread your journal! But in Skyrim, you just followed an arrow everywhere. It took away from the RPG experience. And look at the Thieves guild. In Morrowind and Oblivion if you wanted to find to even find the Thieves Guild you actually had to work, and go out and look for it and do detective work. In Skyrim if you wanted to join you had to walk into a city. That's it.

2: The Magic sucked. It just sucked. It was completely underpowered, especially at higher levels. And there wasn't enough variety. How about better magic next time Bethesda?

3: With a few exceptions, most of your decisions didn't have any real consequences or effects on the world. In the next game I wanna see quest lines that actually put you on the spot and make you think before you act, because you know your actions will have repercussions! There should be serious changes to the game world based on how you act in certain quests. You should have to opportunity to decide whether to save a town from bandits and see it prosper and psychically grow, or let it fall to the bandits and see it turned into a grimy bandit outpost. Or even join the bandits yourself! Maybe not that exactly, but just stuff like that.

and 4: The "unique" weapons aren't actually unique. Again, with a few exceptions most of the "unique" weapons were just regular craftable weapons with normal enchantments. I wanna see more weapons that actually look unique, and actually have truly unique, rare, special enchantments you can't get anywhere else.

Okay. Now that those things are covered lets talk about location and storyline. I just have two words.
Elsweyr! And Dwarves!

Why? Because the Khajit are the best motherfucking race in the entire game, and Dwarves are intriguing as fuck. They've been teasing us with hints about Dwarven mythology the entire series but we've yet to actually see a serious storyline revolving about them. I say it's about time that happens.

What do you think? What would you like to see?

More music, more dragons, more powerful magic, a decent story, a better way of getting around

Dwemers! They're great!I only hope the new TES storyline be about Dwemers and their mysterious disappearance.

Dwarves are intriguing as fuck.
The Dwemer are "intriguing as fuck" because of the mystery surrounding them, and killing that mystery would kill their appeal.

What do you even want to know about them anyway? Skyrim sorta explains how they disappeared (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Arniel's_Endeavor), so that's covered.

If they just put a someway engaging plotline - for, like, any faction - into ES:VI I'd be a lot happier with it than I was with Skyrim.

For the plot and location: Elsweyr and Valenwood, combatting the Thalmor threat.

I also want some Maormer. And a return of good unique weapons.

It would be nice if in the next game we were allowed to return to the past, somehow, and live in the time of Ysgramor, Talos and other great Nordic heroes, or when Dragons ruled Tamriel. Khajiit are pretty boring in my opinion, Dwarves and Falmer (Snow elves) are much more interesting and I'd appreciate if there was a bit more detailed interaction with them in future games. I agree with the OP, though, when he states quests were too easy, and a bit repetitive sometimes, and the Magicka could be improved, as well as more weapons with unique enchantments you couldn't find anywhere else.

I mostly agree with OP, besides the Dwemer stuff. They are all gone, with no way to return. Now if Bethesda would add a few actual snow elves (not falmer. Falmer are mutated snow elves...) That would be nice...
Or if we actually got to interact with the divines...

I agree that it would be awesome to see a storyline revolving around the snow elves. Maybe they could make a comeback and become a playable race! :P

Spoiler (Dawnguard):

We had the inclusion of two Snow Elves [Gelebor (url=http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Knight-Paladin_Gelebor) & Vyrthur (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Arch-Curate_Vyrthur)] in Dawnguard. It was also implies that they're the last - if I remember correctly: been a year since I did the quest-line.

I wouldn't mind some Deadric Price-like quests for the Divines though. That would be cool.

Why not add all of Tamriel but separate it in cells for regions? Yuo can walk the deserts of Hammerfell, explore the Daedric ruins of Morrowind, chill around Cyrodiil... Also the Maormer are awesome. Also ad a cooperative feature, the gameplay should be merged sfrom the last three games, Morrowinf, Oblivion and Skyrim. I sort of missed the crafting of spells from Oblivion while playing Skyrim. Also, you could add the Sun Isles where the humans and the Chimer live. Yeah, those Chimer didn't settle in Morrowind so they weren't turned into Dunmer, they could even shift the plot to Akavir, so you could play as a human, monkey and tiger folks. Also add the class system back.
