Hello.
I'll be short with my question. So my family was into nudism from before I was born and next week is the first time I'm coming with them to a nude resort on the beach.
My main concern is that I haven't shaved... you know... down there like ever and I'm a very shy girl. I want to stay like this so that people can't actually see my vagina, but I'm also afraid that I'll be the only girl there with so much pubic hair that it would look even more embarrassing.

What do I do? :what: The trip is has already been confirmed and there's no turning back now.

Although I've never been to a nudist resort, my understanding is you're not required to be nude if you don't want. Why not just wear a bikini bottom to cover at least that area?

From what I've seen from pictures of the resort there's nobody with bottoms anywhere. Not even younger people.
And I'm afraid my parents will force me to get nude too. They're really passionate about it.

You could just trim or groom it some without removing it completely. But your parents really shouldn't force you to go naked if you're uncomfortable with it.

I've seen so many types of hair styles and body types on our trips to resorts and beaches. I prefer nudism because you do get exposed to so many different types. You learn the human form is not perfect, and can vary in shape/size and hairyness. Your parents have already seen you, so why not just ask what they think? Does your mom shave? Dad? Siblings?

Ultimately though, I'm pretty confident that anyone else there wouldn't care how you look, since they would be naked too, and because of that stuff I mentioned above. Really the only thing I've noticed with all of our travels, is the first hour or so its uncomfortable if you've never been, and then it sorta fades away into just hanging out with people, nude or not. Oh, there is a second thing, sometimes going from warm outside to cold inside, makes the cold feel even colder, and that's compounded by not having clothes, so take a towell or blanket.

And if all else fails, look at those pictures again and see what the "in" thing is there. Just try to remember, you aren't the only person nude, and if its a younger person, they might be feeling awkward like you too. So a common thing to form a new friendship.

I would do what I am comfortable doing. Don't think you family should force you one way or the other

Sammy is right. I would go like I always am. I am shaved and I would go shaved. It is embarrassing if all wear cloth and only one is nude or the other way around. But there are all nude so it feels like everyone is wearing cloth. I have been to a sauna and all were nude and I thought about all the people and what they might think. They think nothing it is normal. So just relax and enjoy your time there.

I have been to a nudist resort with my family quite a few times ... and like you I have a lot of pubic hair! From experience, no one takes any notice whether you're hairy or shaved! You won't be the only girl there with pubes, there are still a lot of us who are natural down there ... and proud of it. Just go and enjoy yourself and stop worrying what other people may think.

No need to go nude just go topless I did so on a public beach that permits it for the first time this summer. I know now why guys go shirtless very relaxing no annoying straps or stupid looking tan lines. Other than several perverts no one appeared to pay attention. I presume at a nudist resort you will receive little attention. You will see plenty of hairy ladies.

Me and my family are nude all the time. I am shave and all of our friends and family see me. I don't like the look of hair on pubes. It looks nasty. I rather have them see my lips than hair. I know alot of women in the 60s and 70s keep their bush to hide their lips while they are naked. You might as well keep your panties on. But I feel better smooth. Personally, I rather be smooth and show people my lips, than having to be shy and have hair that is hiding my lips and it looks gross. I haven't been to resorts but we have people come over to our house or we go to theirs. I get a lot of compliments of how great my lips look. A couple of times I did let it grow out and it looked weird. People also told me it looked better shaved. But it is up to you! You shouldn't feel shy. You should be confident in yourself. If it is normal for you to have a landing strip, bush, low cut or just smooth, just go. Being naked is all about being comfortable, even around others. Don't think what others think. Do what you feel is comfortable for yourself.

Thank you everyone of the advice. I have decided to shave it all off and try to gather some confidence in myself. I guess people seeing my lips isn't so bad. It's not like with boys where I would have to worry about size.

No brothers or sisters and I've actually have not seen my parents naked in many years, neither have they seen me in that time.

I will try not to spread my legs around too much or stand in revealing poses too much in order not to get attention...
But I can't promise I won't be starring a little bit myself if there's somebody cute there :D

As others have said, often resorts are very understanding if you wish to keep your bottoms on. But, having been to more than I can even remember now (my family and I are nudists as well), I can also agree with others - no one will probably even notice and even if they do, most are so welcoming, so open, so understanding, that you'll feel right at home and comfortable after any initial awkwardness passes. Just enjoy it and don't worry about a thing. Let your self-consciousness go and just be confident in who you are. You'll have a great time.

I am proud of you. Try not to be ashamed of yourself. People are going to see it anyway. Just be comfortable. I am not saying to show off. Just do the same things when you are clothed.

Thank you.
Even though still the "people are going to see it anyway" idea is kind of making me nervous, but I'm slowly getting over it. After shaving everything today(it took forever...) I definitely prefer the way my vagina looks now - it's kind of cute.

You seem very experienced in this... another thing that I'm kind of worried is sexual tension... I mean I know those places have nothing to do with that, but after all I'm still a virgin and I get aroused fairly easy... I'm since there's going to be so many naked boys I wonder if I can keep calm... worst thing I can think of getting wet and others noticing.

It doesn't matter. I'm naturist, my parents too, and we are right now in a nude camp for the holydays. Mom, dad and I are full shaved, completly smooth, but It's our choice.
Make yours, and believe me, nobody will notice if you are shaved, trimed, waxed, or not at all.
In one word : enjoy !!!

I think shaved is the best way. I am experienced of people seeing me because I am nude all the time at hom3 around everyone. My friends ask me about this types of stuff all the time. Now they come over and join us. They are shaven too.

I've never been to a nude beach but I'm super comfortable being topless and a g-string. That might be a nice option for you? If you never fully shaved at least try it. Thanks to my mom I shaved everything from the day I first started to see hair down there. Don't be offended, but I physically get ill when I see pubic hair. Thats me

my experiences with nude beaches and resorts are this...you would attract more attention to yourself if you wore any type of clothing...if ppl are real nudists they don't care about appearance they just celebrate the nude body and enjoy the life...I've seen all shapes sizes lots of hair to none..just go have a good time :)

I agree with all of them. How is your mother, shaved, landing strip? If you are comfortable, be like her and stay around her. But I say try to be comfortable and go all the way. That means, at the most only wear sandals. I think you said you stop being nude at home. I say start it back up. I say you will feel more comfortable if you are always nude at home, around friends and family. So if you go out l, you will feel better. Plus, someone you might know there, so if you are around family and friends, it will help you with this. Like myself, I never wear clothes at home. So our friends and family comes over I am very comfortable with them. So when I went to the local swimming hole, I went swimming. I don't own a suit. I was with my friends from school. After a few minutes, we made it a skinny dipping event. More friends came and they kept their suits. But people who didn't see me, but knew me, now saw me with nothing on. So, I say if your environment is comfortable with no clothes, flow with it and relax.

Sometimes distinctions are made between a nude beach, and a clothing optional beach. In any case, just relax and be yourself. I went to a nude beach resort for the first time with my family last March. It was pretty awkward at first, even though I thought I was all prepared. Slipping off the swimsuit and then the first 30 minutes or so are the hardest. But then after that, it all seems pretty normal.....you feel much less self conscious and sorta fit right in. I also don't generally see my family nude and vice versa so that was a bit weird too. It's pretty normal to peek a little.....I think everyone does it, you just can't be too obvious.

No one will care, really. My family are nudist too and we go to several resorts each year. Everyone looks, but no one judges.

I never went to nudist resort. I go to friends and family homes. My family never wear clothes at home, so about 2 years ago, we were going camping with our rv to our secluded spot. We was about to go. Me, my sister and my dad was in the rv and waiting to pull out. But my mom was trying to get the last things. My dad was honking and yelling at her to come one. She came out and she was totally naked with only a purse. She said why should she put anything on, no one never sees us. My sister jumped up and ran out, she yelled at me to grab my bag and follow her. I did. Inside, she told me to leave all of my clothing and take everything off, lime mom. So, we went and spent 4 days camping. We went 5 times like that. My sister had her friend leave her clothes at home to join us too. No one can see us. We stay in the back. When we get to the campsite, we will hike and stuff. No one sees us at all.

If you are comfortable with how much hair you have then just go with it. Even though Ive never been to one, I cant imagine that anyone there will like look at you any different from anyone else.

I think its more important to be comfy in your body no matter what hair style you have down there. Yeah it is awkward at first but then its a lot of fun and skinny dipping is so amazing!!

I finally went to a resort. My family went there last weekend. It wasn't hot but it was still warm enough. I was nervous but it was a good experience. There were plenty of shaved people there but others did their thing. We are planning to go more, next year.

When you go to a nude beach and resorts you will see a wide range of "Hair Styles" so I would not worry about it.

Lots of others have already said this, and I'm thinking especially those who have been to nude beaches or resorts. I've never been myself but from what I've heard that's kind of the whole point - it's just about being naked not what you look like. I'm sure there's bound to be a range of ages and "hair styles" and if what I've heard is true nobody's going to care if you're shaved or hairy.

And if you still don't want to do it and wear bottoms or something, I would hope your parents would respect that and not force you to do anything.

the meaning of a nude or naturist beach is to be like you want to be and how you feel the best and that others accept you exact the way you are. Ofcourse you have to accept others the way they are and feel the best. Sahved or not, skinny or chubby, on a nudist beach it simply does not matter.

Had no idea nude beaches were that popular in the States. Are there no rules for how old someone can be on a nude beach?

Daniella.. Have you ever been to a nude beach in denmark? Where? I want to try it. and perhaps it feels easier to do it somewhere close, but not home.

If so, have you ever been there with your parents? Im building up the courage to talke to my parents about it :)

A little trim is nice, shows you care. Natural is fine too but if you can braid it you have way too much time on your hands,

Just go as you feel most comfortable. If your worried of having more hair then any other girls your age there maybe trim and style your pubes a bit, also maybe wear your bikini bottoms for starters and slowly try going without them. Not all nudist beaches and resorts are totally nude compulsory, just say your on your period.

I've never heard of a maximum age limit unless it was a exclusive club (I.e. 18-25), some beaches I think have a minimum age (I.e. 16-18ish) but those are more of the "adult only" beaches were pretty much anything goes.

I am staying at my aunts for the summer and her and my uncle rarely wear clothes. I asked her if I could do the same, anyway I am young and my public hair is light around my lips and so I just gave up and asked her to help shave me bald. Ever since my uncle walks around usually erect, I don't know if it is because of me but I catch myself subconsciously showing my vagina off since it feels fresh in the air.

Can't you tell your uncle to hang a towel on it or something.

This original question is well out of date. But is the point of naturism and sex getting mixed up that's what give real naturists and naturism a bad name.

Been going to nude beaches with family and friends since I was 10, it's the best

Although I've never been to a nudist resort, my understanding is you're not required to be nude if you don't want. Why not just wear a bikini bottom to cover at least that area?

Depends on the resort - some insist on nudity
Or you can wear bottoms if on your period/say you are (they usually assume that's why they are on)
