School Camp

Hey, there is a school camp coming up and I have a problem. There are two separate groups going at different times, one is a male group and the other a female group. All of my friends are female apart from one friend who is male, so when we had to pick smaller 'squads' of 6 to hike in I went to the one male friend I had and was with him and we stayed together and ended up being mashed up with another group of 4 to make a squad of 6. At the time I didn't know I had an option to go into a girls group, so now I have been told if I would like to change into a girls group I can. (There is another guy going into a girls group and a girl going in a guys group as well) I want to move into the girls group with pretty much all of my close friends and so I can get away from the other people in my squad (I nearly died when I saw the other squad members were people I absolutely despise.) The only thing stopping me from taking the offer to move into the girls group is I do not want to offend the guy I am currently friends with in the group. He is friends with the other squad members so it is fine for him. Another thing is I find him really annoying as well and don't think I could live 2 night and 3 days with him. What do you think I should do, move into the girls group with my friends and guarantee that I will enjoy myself on the camp but risk offending the only male friend I have or do you reckon I should just stay with him and put up with the other people and try to live though the 3 days with him?

You could always tell him that, because you don't know the other guys very well, you don't want to be the "awkward one" and you think he would enjoy the school camp much more if you moved to the girls group as everyone in the group would know each other. It's your decision, obviously, but either way, I don't really see a reason for him to be offended in case you move groups.

I think you should just switch groups. If he really was your friend, he wouldn't care if you went to the other group.

Just switch, if he is your friend he will understand why you wanted to move groups
