Also, I really suggest you don't let peer pressure affect your decisions in life. If you have to drink/smoke in order to be accepted by a certain group of people, or look "cool", it's really just a waste of your time. Don't allow anyone to make you do anything you don't honestly want to do, because really, what's the joy in that? You will regret it later in life.

I hate drinking. When I drink it turns me into a very depressing character. I get sad, worried and I want to be isolated from people. Drinking for me has led to bad experiences. Most parties where I drink I will cry - a lot. I try not to drink because of the reasons above and if I ever do drink I'll only have 1 unit, that will still affect me but it's not too bad. Smoking I have never really tried. I have tried it but I don't really remember it and it was a while ago. But I don't want to smoke.

I have been known to smoke weed and drink on occasion. Maybe weed once every 1-2 weeks and alcohol once a month. But I smoke cigarettes daily and I enjoy all three. It just sucks that I have to sneak behind my grandfathers back to smoke cigs. I also rarely take prescription painkillers but that's once in a blue moon because it's hard for me to get my hands on them. I try to avoid anything harder then that though, I've seen what it can do firsthand and I have no desire to go down that road.

I love alcohol, not only the effects but also the taste, but not all kinds of alcohol. I don't like beer but I love whiskey, champagne, white wine even when I'm alone, and rum or vodka, etc when I'm with my friends at a party. I started smoking cigarettes when I turned 15 because a friend taught me how to buy them without being 18 years old and I did it just to look "cool", but I didn't really like it so one day I just stopped doing it. And I tried marijuana once, but it was just a quick sip so I haven't really felt the effects.

once i had the freedom to legally buy alcohol, i started enjoying it a lot more. Tequila is the best thing in the world. Some wine is okay too. No a huge fan of beer though, but cider is okay.

Well, drinking is easy to explain. Yes, everyone tells you it's unhealthy (and up to a certain age it truly is - I hate it when I see someone like 12 drinking). Of course, if you drink A LOT and make a habit out of it, it becomes harmful. But the actual addiction to alcohol is harder to "obtain" - it's way easier to get addicted to smoking or drugs. Otherwise, I find drinking every once in a while fun, relaxing. It can make you enjoy yourself better, laugh more, forget about something that's upsetting you.

As for smoking, well of course it's harmful, but from a purely artistic point of view, I find it very "inspiring" (alcohol too). The image of a author in front of his typewriter is simply incomplete with a cigarette and a glass of wine or whiskey.

I know smoking is not good and I only do it every once in a while, especially during the holidays. And since I do it so rarely, I only buy expensive cigarettes - if I'm about to do something bad, at least I should make sure I do it the right way, right?

Alcohol - I really enjoy drinking. I am so different when I'm drunk, I'm a happier, more confident person who can actually get along with people. I let my emotions out more and being drunk actually helps me out mentally because when I'm sober I bottle everything up inside and it usually gets released in the form of self-harm or anger. Plus, I love the taste of whiskey and vodka and stuff like that. I love the way it burns.

Smoking - I also enjoy smoking, I don't do it often and I haven't in like three months but when I do do it I feel a sense of relief and calmness. I like the feel of the smoke going into my lungs.

I really like drinking. Perhaps too much but for me its mainly a social tool. In college its quite common but still a very good chunk of people living on college campuses don't drink at all. I'll also have a drink or two while doing hw or watching football. But usually its once on weekend nights where heavy drinking takes place. I only drink beer so takes longer to get drunk and is safer than hard alcohol. I've thrown up a number of times which sucks but I blackout almost every time I binge drink. I love certain kinds of alcohol but rarely drink, maybe some vodka or wine once or twice a month. Smoking is enjoyable in itself.
