Straya's theory seems pretty possible, or it could just be trying to take the mickey out of yah; see if he can make you uncomfortable; friends do that all the time :)

Since he's as open as he is, what I would probably do is start asking him some questions to see what he'll talk about and how he reacts to the things you ask him or the things you tell him. If it keeps getting more and more open, then you'll know that it's probably safe to suggest trying things together.

The good thing with someone as open as him is that he's probably open-minded enough that he won't have a very bad reaction if what you're curious about is a step beyond what he's interested in trying.

Yeah as someone who has done something similar, he probably wants to experiment lol. However, don't assume this. Do some research with him. And by that I just mean be straight with him and ask him what he is doing.
