I used to wear boxer briefs but then I dug through my closet and found an unopened pack with three boxers inside. I put them on and I love them but my parents don't know I am wearing them because that would be awkward, but I want more of them... How do I ask? Also not only do I just want boxers all my underwear is to small for me...
How do I ask them?

Just tell your parents that your underwear is getting too small and you don't like the feel of them. Tell them you want to try something else :)

Didn't they buy the package of boxers to begin with? Underwear is just clothes. I told mine I wanted to try boxerbriefs like my cousin Liam started wearing. never occurred to me as an awkward question.

My dad has always let me pick my underwear out when we go to the mall so I never thought about it being awkward

Yeah, this time of year I would just pick out my own underwear when I'm getting other clothes for back to school. It's not that awkward when the underwear are just one of several things--along with socks, jeans, shirts, notebooks, paper, pens, etc.

you act as if you were gonna ask them to buy you condoms or something, buying underwear is nothing unusual, at least here, i dont know where ur from..
If they keep getting you smaller, just tell them so, let them give you $$ and buy it for yourself

Your a growing boy and it isnt the first time your parents have bought underwear for you. Your wearing them, not your parents so get what you want to make you feel comfortable.

Just ask.
It's not like you are a girl asking for a thong.
It's just boxers

i truly dont understand what the issue is with telling your parents that you need new unders. i am sure they would have no problem getting them for you if what you already have is too small. i have always been told the dumbest question you can ask is the one you dont ask.

I agree with Zack, don't see the problem, just say I need no underwear.

November 11th, 2014, 03:07 PM
just say you find boxers more comfortable. I don't see why there would be a problem at all. if for some reason there is, you could buy your own, but it is not like there is a huge price difference between boxers and boxer briefs (depending on the brand or whatever) so I don't think it should be an issue at all.

I just tell my parents that I'm out of underwear, so they give me some money and then I go out and buy a few pairs :)

Just say you have to go shopping for personal stuff and that you'll pay for yourself. My parents didn't ask questions and they drove me to get underwear.

THey used to give me money to buy whatever I wanted.....Just ask for that..
But I was in luck whn it cam to undies....
My GF got a bunch of low cut briefs with cute prints whn I wnt up a size recently. The've got a bigger waist but fit very snug over my butt and oves not cover to my new tummy chub...GF loves 'em......B4 my undies we regular briefs (white, black & gray)
Downside is they're pretty revealing whn I change for sports & whn hanging out just in undies on a warm day, or whn take an impromptu dip in da pool/fountain in my undies with frnds / family..

I dont wait around to ask. It usually comes up if were out shopping with my dad while walking through the dept. store, we always go through underwear and socks section because one of us needs something and we just pick out what we want. No issues or questions as to what we choose.

I switch back and forth from boxer briefs, briefs and boxers. My mom has never questioned it, but I am sure she knows what I am wearing, as she does the laundry. When I need new ones, I just put whatever style I am wearing at the time, in the shopping cart. She never said anything. She has more important things to worry about, than what underwear I am wearing.
Just for fun, I think I will throw a package of girls panties in the cart next time, just to see if she flips out.

I don't think asking them would make it awkward. Maybe it'll be a little awkward for you, but they're just gonna think you're changing preferences. I'm not really close with my parents, so I feel your struggle. But really, just ask.

I don't quite see the difference between asking your parents for "a new shirt" and "a pack of boxers".
In fact, it would make more sense to ask for boxers than most other pieces of clothing- you are growing rapidly and your underwear is too small, and the lowest layer of cloth usually receives most torture in terms of getting dirty and ultimately getting destroyed. Your parents will understand (if they won't, i'm not quite certain how they managed to get you where you are now).

Meh Guy
December 6th, 2014, 05:44 PM
It really shouldn't be awkward first just because they're your parents, they've seen everything and know pretty much everything. Even then just ask them to buy you some, mostly everyone wears one or the other so it's not like you are asking them for some weird thing that is personal.
