View Full Version : I couldn't help it...

So...I tried to hang myself at school...Decided against it...Got caught...Got sent to a mental institution for a week...And now I'm here.
The reason I tried to kill myself? Stress. Everything was falling apart around me. I had been kicked out of the musical that I was a lead in, I had assault charges pending (the DA threw it out last week), a suspension from school, and a depression that was baring down on me more than ever.
In a way, I did commit suicide that day because part of me is now dead; gone forever. But the part that's left is hopeful and full of everything I once was without.
However, the part that was destroyed that day left with an empty space; a void; an unanswerable question: what do I do now?

I think you should see a psychiatrist they will help you.

What you could do, is figure out what was once in that empty space, and find it again, and refill it. If that makes any sense.

Ok. You need medical help truely. Psychologist, psychiatrist, counsellor etc. Anything is a good start. Talk to your parents perhaps? If you cant, see a counsellor at school, and then see if he/she can help or hand you on to somebody even more highly trained.

I understand why people are suggesting that you go and see a professional, because frankly something isnt right if you go to the lengths you did, and were serious about taking your own life. Everyone gets stressed about things, everyone gets down, but not everyone considers killing themself. You need to figure out what pushed you so far to the edge, and professionals can help you do that.
However, I also agree with the above statement. You need to decide what you want to go in that space. Sometimes when you come close to death, even if it is your own choice, it makes you re-evaluate things. Out with the old and in with the new. And the good thing is, you can choose the new. :)
In the mean time, do some things you enjoy. You said you were in a musical before? What about doing something similar to that? Drama group? Acting class? Anything similar?
I guess a good way to think about how you want to be is if you can answer yes to, would you want to be your friend?
Anyway, goodluck with everything :)

Sorry to hear things haven't been the greatest.
Perhaps you should talk to a proffesional? Or phone a local help line, or e-mail someone, I don't know if its any help but you can try this website - http://www.connexions-direct.com/
They have online advisors, and an e-mail service, so please check it out!
Also perhaps to talk to your parents or close friends how you've been feeling, someone you can trust really well. You need to sort things out a little is all.
Best of luck to you m'dear.
