These are the kind of people that give open/concealed carry activists a bad reputation.

What are your positions on open carry?

I am all for open carry, I support it 100% and yes people like that do give law binding citizens a bad reputation. Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

In my ideal country, gun ownership would be illegal completely, but I know that just isn't realistic for America. At least not anytime soon. But in the meantime I don't see why open carry should be illegal. At least if they have their guns out in the open the police can keep an eye on them.

Meh he's an attention whore. I like open carry better than concealed carry. Not that I have a problem with concealed carry. If someone wants to kill people, open carry laws don't mean anything either way. Take away all guns and a homicidal kook can still mow down school kids with a car.

I don't agree with open carry at all. The entire purpose of owning a gun would be for protection, not for flaunting it around or walking aimlessly with it. If you walked around with a gun out and in your hand, 99% of people who see you will probably run away because usually people only openly carry a gun if they are going to try and shoot someone.

Oh. Well in that case I absolutely agree. Though I think if you were to carry one like that you should definitely be required to go through a more advanced gun training, imo.

Although I'm in favor of allowing it, I think anyone who actually openly carries their firearm is defeating the purpose.

I mean, the point of carrying a firearm on you while out in public is to have the ability to defend yourself from attacks, correct? So for example, let's say Mr. Smith decides he want to go shoot up a building, and he walks in and sees Mr. Joe standing there with a Glock on his hip. As long as Mr. Smith has at least some common sense, he'll know to take out Mr. Joe first, and thus ending any attempt at retaliation.

Now here's the same situation, except now Mr. Joe has his Glock concealed under his shirt, and Mr. Smith doesn't know Mr. Smith has a gun. Mr. Joe sees Mr. Smith attempting to murder the others in the building, and Mr. Joe politely sends Mr. Smith to the morgue with 2 in the chest and 1 in the head.

So in other words, yes, I believe it should be allowed (To some extent, excluding government buildings and education facilities), but I think it's pointless.

Not only I think open carry should be allowed, I favor it above concealed carry. But what outlaw would not conceal carry?

Unfortunately the teen's just being all immature about it.
