Hi. I want to make gaming videos on YouTube. Just for fun, I doubt I'll be able to make a career out of it. But I don't have the money for fraps or and devices. Does anyone have any suggestions for a recording software that is safe and legal most imporotantly free?

HyperCam :lol3:
You should look for open-source screencapture software. I haven't any on the top of my head.

CamStudio! It's open source and great at recording videos! Just make sure you have a lot of free space as it's all in AVI and makes massive files.

Like he said, CamStudio, worked for me. But the HUGE AVI files are a pain, HyperCam is good as well.
BandiCam has a free version as well but that has a water mark with it.

Two things to add:
AVI can be easily compressed with Windows Movie Maker. Just put the AVI into a video of the same resolution and export as WMV. I once had a gigantic, no-compression AVI that was 19 GB in size later reduced to 219 MB :)
Also, as a small tip, facecams are always an awesome addition, if possible.
