My girlfriend likes me wearing them-do you own any Ralph Lauren polos?

Too funny that you posted this. I just bought some more RL Polos today (I have one in just about every color now) and posted about it on another thread. And even more ironic, my girlfriend told me the same thing just a few weeks ago. I said something to the effect that maybe I wear too many Polos and she all but begged me to keep wearing them haha.

It's just like any other polo... but with a special symbol on it for the price of many more dollars! Must buy!

I don't see much of a point in brand names anyways.

No, because I see Ralph Lauren the same way I see Apple: you're paying "luxury" prices for just premium (or in some cases, regular) grade quality.

That being said, I wouldn't spend my cash on them unless they had something on a pretty steep sale or I was filthy rich and could afford a $100 shirt.

Wear whatever you like / feel comfortable in!

I personally cringe every time I see an older chubby guy wearing a skin-tight polo, half-way unbuttoned, with chest hair showing. Oh my gosh, ick. :P So for me, they carry a negative connotation. haha

Yeah I was in Macy's the other day and saw a clearance rack and on there was a Ralph Lauren Polo shirt. The tag said it was $129.99 and it dropped to $87.99. In my mind, I was thinking "What kind douchebag pays that much for a fucking shirt!?" I bought an Apple Product AT BEST BUY for cheaper than the clearance price of that plain shirt.

If I was that girlfriend, I'd make you pay that price on something fancier, like a tux, not a polo shirt. How could you pay that much for one polo shirt?

Ummm, yeaah, It's a polo shirt. A polo shirt itself can't look hot, but it can look hot on somebody. That being said, I think men look hotter in plaid button up shirts.

They're not always so expensive. If you buy them during a good sale or at one of their factory stores at outlet malls the prices can be half (or even less) the list price. I have many RL polos and I promise you I didn't pay $100 for a single one of them.

I don't like polos in general, but I'm sure people who do might think they're hot, or polos in general. Ralph "auren isn't necessarily better in any way that's apparent to me, may as well get cheaper ones. Unless you have the means I can't imagine spending as much money on clothes as RL charges!

I think they look like regular shirts that are very overpriced.

Yeah, Ralph Lauren seems like such a phony. That's not his real name, he designed that too.
And his advertising seems to try to project an image of "old money" society, families that have
been rich for generations.
