Thoughts on Iggy Azalea?

She has 2 songs (Problem and Fancy) that are currently topping the charts and I was just thinking what are your thoughts on Iggy Azalea? Can she be compared to Nicki Minaj? Do you think they'll have issues in the future? Many of my friends don't really like her but I do.

I actually kind of like Iggy Azelea. Which is weird, because I rarely like rap except for a few. Honestly, I don't think theirs even a competition, however I don't like Nicki Minaj so that could explain it. As for issues, you never know.

The radio and record companies needed a more marketable face to sell to the kids in the suburbs, just another mainstream rapper with no lyricism. Some people are saying shes a threat to Nicki, Nicki is wack too.

This basically explains it for me. I personally like Nicki's old stuff, but Iggy has better written music. Also, people claiming cultural appropriation pisses me off so I usually like those artists that come out and does what people think aren't "culturally appropriate."

There has been an ongoing argument about Nicki "starting" from scratch and how hard it was for her to get the success she has now whereas Iggy Azalea was a simple 123 step. Some people think that Iggy has become famous really quickly because she's white and has a big booty. I don't really know why but racism gets involved. Both have said things they shouldn't have said but I guess that's how it is with every female rapper. Nicki then stirred up some controversy when she said this as she was awarded at the BET Awards 2014, "what I want the world to know about Nicki Minaj is when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it". People think that her speech was aimed indirectly at Iggy Azalea. Nicki then denied the rumor on her Twitter.

Overall, I like both of them. Each of them has a unique style of rapping, both coming from different places, and I like what I hear from them.

Well it makes no sense if it were aimed at Iggy. She wrote her own shit with other ppl, which is what most artists do lol and buying songs isn't an new thing, people have done it for years.

I love that she is Aussie, I love her music and overall I think she is a good music artist because she is seems quirky, fun and different.

Honestly, Nicki's on a whole different level compared to Iggy. To me, the two aren't even comparable. Iggy's good at what she does and Nicki's good at what she does, but they are two different styles of music IMO.
