Quick question.

I was just wondering why it is that gamertags aren't allowed in signatures. I know that they're allowed on a profile, but it just seems different from other methods of offsite contact. It's a bit more limited, and in some cases, there's almost no way to talk to people with them.

It just seems like it would fit better in a signature. Especially in somewhere like TJP, where those networks are almost always used by whoever is posting.

That actually sounds like a really good idea. I don't think anybody would have made a mod for it though. Sure, lurkers could see some kind of contact info on a signature and get creepy wit' it, but I imagine that not enough people think like this actively for this setting to be in demand.

I don't know, ever since I put my Skype info on my profile I've had 3 porn automated bot advertiser things IM me on Skype. :/ Not sure if that's connected or what.

I haven't extensively looked, but from my quick looks, it's not possible to make them private; be it with a mod or a code edit. It is possible I'm wrong (shocking, I know...) and in which case I'd be happy to consider looking further into anything anyone finds.

I don't think it'd be a good idea to privatize them, even if it was possible. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't consider it if it was possible.

If you put your Skype info in as an image, the bots shouldn't be able to pick it up.

The only place Skype (or any other contact info) is allowed is in the designated boxes in the 'Contact Info' tab on your profile. Anywhere else, such as in a photo, is against the rules.
