I'm almost 18 and my voice still sounds like a 13 year old's.

Is this normal or is it because I'm gay?

You aren't gay unless you're actually, well... gay. If you feel attracted to members of the same sex, you are. If not, then you probably aren't. Everyone's different, and there is really no way to change your body.

That wasn't the point. The point was I'm almost 18 and my voice is still very high pitched. People think I am a woman on the telephone.

And I meant is it because I am gay because I am.

Well, apparently if you relax your neck when your talking it helpsto make your voice deeper. That's what I've heard from others on this site.

It will go down at some point. It's not because you are gay

Puberty ends around your early 20's so you've still got a few years to go before your fully developed.

Some people just have a naturally high pitched voice. There is no guarantee that your voice will change, but no, the fact that you have a very high pitched voice does not make you gay, and vice versa (being gay does not mean that you automatically will have a very high pitched voice). It doesn't work like that.

For some, it can go until the early 20's, not for everyone though. Some finish before others.

To the original poster, as Underground_Network has stated, some people have naturally high voices. And others have very deep voices. It's not effected by your sexuality. It's possible that your voice will get deeper, it's also possible that it won't. I can't tell.

Your voice has nothing to do with sexuality unless you try to make in fact straight. I work with a guy who has the same problem, except he's straight and has a higher pitched voice.

It could be that you're just not quite finished with puberty regarding your voice change, or you are finished and just got the short end of the stick.

errr^^^...

Anyways, I have a high pitched voice, and I'm not sure it's ever going to go away. As I said, before, everyone's different and there's nothing you can do about it.

the sound or pitch of your voice will not detemine your sexuailty
