Okay so I have started to learn how to play guitar. I have a couple of things to discuss in this post.
1. I have a really nice electric guitar. I am currently learning on that, but the problem is that I want to play acoustic. See, the electric guitar I have is my mom's but she never plays it. Any suggestions on which acoustic guitar to save up for?
2. The second thing is just general tips on how to get started. I've started an online course, but I keep getting a "twang" in my sound. Any tips on how to get better? Anything is appreciated.

Sadly everyone I knew on VT that played guitar have been banned so obviously that's no help to ya.
A friend of my moms has a reproduction of John Lennon's Acoustic/electric guitar it sounds great :)
Hopefully this'll help ya out. www.epiphone.com/products/Acoustic-Electric/John-Lennon-EJ-160E.aspx

Perhaps you should think about getting a Yamaha FG700S Dreadnought, if you're looking for a good guitar at a low price. This is the guitar I bought when I first started playing guitar and I thought it was great.
As for the twang/buzz sound your guitar is making, make sure the strings aren't too close to the fretboard because when you pluck a string, the rest of the strings will vibrate a bit and that's what makes that buzz sound. Or perhaps it could be the curvature of the neck of the guitar. If the tension of the guitar is off, it can cause the neck of the guitar to curve.

My personal recommendation on a guitar would be something from Takamine. There's a big price range for Takamines, anything from $180 to over $2500. I suggest the GD20 in the link below. They have a video, too!

Also, could you describe the "twang?" If it's more of a buzzing sound, Mami's suggestion sounds about right. If it's something else, then I might be able to suggest something different.

I don't really have a specific one to give you. The first guitar I bought was a Jasmine by Takamine. It's not the best, a little bit mediocre in some ways, but it got the job done. I got it for around $90. I suggest you get one a more expensive one as those tend to be better. around $175+ will do.
I highly suggest you go to a music store to see how the guitar sounds, rather than ordering one online. However, you can still order online and be fine, just read the reviews. Good guitar brands that I've played and have been happy with (although I'm not all that picky) is Fender and Takamine, although if you're getting Takamine, I suggest you get something around $150. Like I said, I like my first guitar, it's just not the best sounding ever. It was a good starter for me, that is all.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I think I will look into the Yamaha FG700S Dreadnought. Mainly because I was thinking about getting my mom to sell the electric guitar that I have. Then maybe I could get that one.

First off, what guitar do you currently have. Selling an instrument is a big deal honestly. It might have some sentimental value, or you might just be sitting on a really awesome guitar. Then again, you could be sitting on a piece of shit.
As for an acoustic guitar, companies that are good would be Epiphone, Ibanez, and Yamaha if you're on a budget (Yamaha would honestly be my last choice).
If you really wanna save up though, Taylor or Martin guitars are probably the best acoustics you can get.

My sister wants to learn, she's 14. But I want to make sure that she sticks with it before I get her a nice guitar. So I bought her one from Target for like $120, plus a capo, tunner, and picks. Her friend plays so he may help her learn but she's just going to go online and learn cords and I'm going to teach her how to read music.
