I'm not sure if this belongs here or in p101, but anyway
I've noticed a weird thing when it comes to my depression, sometimes I have no sex drive and then there are periods of time where I have a very active sex drive. I'm not sure if this has anything to do wit bein on anti depressants or not but I've been off of them for months.

Medication can definitely mess with your sex drive, but if you've been off of it for months, then I would venture to say that it is probably unrelated to your past meds; although I am not a doctor. Depression itself can lower your sex drive -- it can make you lose interest in things you once loved, as in hobbies, passions, hanging out with friends, and sex drive. When you are depressed, your brain is not maintaining its hormone levels in the same manner it was before depression set it, so it makes sense that you have a lowered sex drive.
Your sharply increased sex drive at times could be, and I would say probably is, related to depression too. Since your hormone levels are slightly askew, you may be producing more hormones that increase your libido at times, while at other times you may be deficient in those hormones.

I think depression and sex drive are definitely related. During my really bad periods I have 0% energy or willingness to do anything sexual. I've had points where even the thought of it has made me want to just curl up and fall asleep. In my opinion it's very much related.

I kind feel the same and I'm bipolar, so when I'm in a depressive phase I have no sex drive at all and during a manic phase my sex drive is very high. I didn't dare to ask a doctor but from what I read there is a connection, so I may be that this is true for you, too.

I really know what you mean, it was kind of strange for me actually when I was at my lowest points I had a crazy sex drive, but as I started recovering (therapy and meds) it really dropped. Depression and sex drive are related, just as medication can have a side effect of decreasing your sex drive. If you're still feeling down/depressed that's probably where the up and down sex drive is coming from. I guess mine was so high because it was a way of blocking everything out, but everyones different. Mines improving now, I'm sure yours will go back to normal in time :)
