I burned myself for the first time a few days ago and there's a pretty bad one on my hip. It's really red and stings when anything touches it. It's starting to scab over. I was wondering typically when do burns heal? I was being stupid and did a few on my forearm, not as bad as my hip but they are visible, being summer and all I think you understand my concern. Thanks

Try bepanthen (or other anti-septic burn cream) for any open burns, don't try to rub it in too much just dab it on. Burns typically tend to scar a bit so after they're healed you might want to look at bio-oil, apparently that helps with scars a lot, especially if you start it soon after the injury heals.

In regards to 'when', it all depends on the severity of the burn. The scars may be visible for years, the initial would should heal within a week though if it isn't overly bad.

I told you not to burn for a reason, burn marks are HARD to get rid of, and they hurt for longer than you want them too.

I recommend antiseptic burn cream, it really helps the pain, Luke BYF said they will scab over and may scar quite badly :/
Bio oil is good but I can't say personally as I never got to use it long enough to see results. It could take a while for them to heal, but I'm sure they will.

As to "when", could take months, could take years. But the initial wound should heal in a week or two.

Okay, I will try some anti septic cream or something.

I deserved it, and did what I had to do, so what's done is done .

If its already scabbing then I'd take that as a good sign and that its healing quickly after only a few days. I don't have much experience with burns seeing as when I have done it they've been pretty bad and have taken months to heal. If its not producing puss and has gone straight to scabbing I'd expect it to be scarred over in a couple weeks at most depending on how large the area of the burn is. To be honest not even my smallest burn had started to fade and that was done over a year ago. I wouldn't hold out for them being gone for summer but just cover it with makeup or ignore that its there. You'd be surprised at what people tend to overlook.

I've used bio oil long term for scars from cutting. Scars that used to be super noticeable are now really faded. I'd recommend it.

But since your burn scars are relatively new, I would agree with everyone else that you need to get burn cream.

I only ever burnt with hot water for self harm. It doesn't scar as much. But i use burn cream and moisturizer for scars. Fades fairly quickly.

Burn marks are extremely hard to get rid of... I have a bunch of cigarette burns in the "nether-regions" if you know what I mean (no not self inflicted) and it's been almost a year and a half and I have pretty bad scars. Use burn cream until it's pretty well healed and then switch to menderma to help with the scars

First of all, you should be washing it every night with antimicrobial soap and water. Burning/cutting is just a very bad way to cope with problems and a very good way to get a bad infection. Keep it bandaged. I'm here if you need to talk.
