I applied to work at kmart today and i want to know how long it normally take to get a response.

I've applied so many times for a job but never gotten a reaction...
It usually takes about 1 to 2 weeks. After that, they're simply not going to respond.

When I applied to my current job I had my first interview (informal) that day by the Asst. Manager and about a few days to a week later I got my second interview, this time by the head manager and I got hired. So it depends on where you applied and whether or not they need you.

1-2 weeks, at most a month. If you're lucky enough they'll reply back to you, even if you don't get the job - Whole Foods did that with me when I applied but didn't get in
