I havent told anyone about this before, like, no one, not even my psych.

I have recurring nightmares, most nights. Usually about 5-6 in 7 nights I will and up untill now its not been to much of a problem, its been just a jump scare and I can go back to sleep, but more and more over the last few months its been getting more extreme, to the point I wake up sweating and once or twice crying.

Does anyone know why nightmares are an issue or how to stop them. They're a freaking pain in the arse :what:

This used to happen to me a few years back, horrible dreams about getting raped :( thank god I never have been. They managed to stop after a few months. Some people say not think of your dream before you go to bed. Try to be relaxed, think happy thoughts and have a good sleep routine to ease your way to sleep peacefully. Granted sometimes it's something buried in your subconscious and there's not much to do about that :/ maybe you should tell your therapist, it may be a side effect from you meds.

I've heard many times that nightmares come from unresolved stress in your life. Anything that could be causing these nightmares?

Dude I am not the right guy to give you an advise but I can share with you some stuff that is happen to my baby bro. He is 11. we share a room and sometimes he just wake up in the middle of the night crying jeez man that scare me to death I hold him and tried to help him to sleep again so, the thing is I need to tell my Dad about this stuff and the thing is the root of the problem is not having our mom around. She left when we were very young. And still he miss her and I think the nitemares are about this I mean something is happening to you that is trigger this stuff. Hope this can help you to find an answer. HUGZZZ

Hmm, triggers?
Well apart from stress and new medication for my crazyness I can't think of anything, but my meds have been screwing with my sleepy cycle so it may be something to do with them, and I went though a bit of a rough break up (still forgive you:) )
So it could be that, still happening so I talked to my doctor and he said I should adjust the med dose so that it reduces sleep side effect, and hopefully with it the nightmares, I hope it works because waking up crying is getting old, it happened this morning as well.

Yep, it really could be the meds, happened to me, too. I stopped taking them and my sleep cycle went back to normal and I didn't have nightmares anymore. I'm a bit crazier now but that's worth it :)

I used to have nightmares several times a night. Always about the same subject.
I would wake up screaming and crying until I started to learn Lucid Dreaming.
It takes a while to learn, but everyone can learn it and it'll definitely help.
If you don't know what it is, just look it up. It's a very popular subject.
