As I have mentioned in an earlier post here, I would like to buy a new laptop. I decided yesterday after a bit of research that a chromebook would be perfect. Now comes the tough choice, should I get the Toshiba Chromebook, Dell Chromebook 11, or HP Chromebook 11

Good choice! :D

I guess it depends on a couple of factors:

Do you plan on using Ubuntu, or just ChromeOS?
What is the most important factor: weight, speed, or all-around benefits?
Would you be willing to pay more for 4GB of RAM for a bit better performance, or the standard 2GB?
Have you considered the Acer C720?

Chrome OS only but if I needed it for some application I have to have, then I'll get it.
All around benefits
4GB
I saw a few reviews but that's it.

Hmm, I would suggest either the Toshiba CB35 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HRO3IBA/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00HRO3IBA&linkCode=as2&tag=cmpr-20) or the Samsung Chromebook 2 (http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/chrome-os-devices/XE503C12-K01US).

I think I'm gonna get the Toshiba

May i just add, Chromebooks are a relatively new OS system and they lack compatibility in MANY ways right now. You can't use things such as Skype, iTunes, or programs you may use on a daily/weekly basis. However if you're sure about your choice on the Chromebook i highly suggest Dell in my opinion. Although really most of these laptop brands lack in quality now a days i would still suggest Dell. You're buying a Chromebook, they aren't really made for great computing needs so the make shouldn't make too much a difference honestly. :) I would say it's more of a personal choice! Hope this helps.

That's the thing, I don't those things use anyways. I use FB, YT, VT, B/R, Twitter, random porn sites on a near to daily basis and I use it to check my email and for research purposes, that's it. So that's why I'm gravitating to the Chromebook and I did my research on it so I get the limitations, but the limitations don't bother me and Google have substitutes to MS Word, PowerPoint, the 2 MS applications I use the most. As far as design yeah they're pretty much the same but I like the Toshiba the most b/c it has less problems than the other chromebooks have

We use chromebooks in school all the time. They're a piece of shit. Now, maybe a different kind or brand would be better. Just don't get Samsung.

These infernal devices have caused me nothing but pain. My high school decided these would be a great way to spend what little money we get*, instead of replacing the antiquated and tattered textbooks** we've been using for many years.

Of course we had to use these when there was in-class research to do. Well 30-odd things all trying to connect on the same WiFi channel(look it up) wasn't particularly fast.
I could go on, but I'll save my breath.

Terrible, useless crap. Planned obsolescence is a key feature: you literally cannot do anything but browse the web with it. Sure you can put some Linux distro on it, but you still have almost no hardware to do anything with.

* My school district is stupid. All the tax money gets thrown at low-performing and ghetto(they are interchangeable here) schools, in the vain hope they'll improve. The good schools, however, get almost nothing, and must rely on the infrequent grants we get.
** The most recent textbook I had was one from 2005. This would not be a problem -- calculus doesn't change that often -- were the school copies not falling apart. The rest of the books were somewhat older: APUSH, for example, was from 2003. Many important things have changed since then(the class copy is from '99, it even says "Welcome to the new Milennium!")

You might as well buy a tablet with a case that includes a keyboard.

I agree with the TheMatrix, the chromebook is really useless.
