Just so everyone knows, there isn't any really deep meaning to this poem, I just wanted to make the reader feel as if there is somethin to be anticipated in the future. Something mysterious. Here is my poem.
The Day the Cows Came Home
Always used as an expression
never true confession
it has a deep meaning
with wonders it is teeming
"The day the cows come home"
Used when in denial
never without a thought, a trial
said when in disbelief
although the consequence is grief
"The day the cows come home"
Every time the phrase is spoken
never used without some token*
the power that's amassed
will sometime come free at last
"The day the cows come home"
Finally one fine day
everything turned gray
for all the scepticism
turned to cataclysm
"The day the cows came home"
When I handed this in my teacher commented, "Very deep, there must be some irony here at work." I was like, WTF?!?!
Enjoy the irony. Lol.
*A token can be used to mean a gesture of some sort, usuakky a hand gesture,
