I prefer it over beer because it has less calories and takes less to get drunk, so I guess it's a little healthier to drink as you don't need to have as much. But it tastes bad.

There's a few brands that tast fine straight, but generally vodka is meant to be mixed.
Vodka tasted decent straight to me up until a year ago, I'll admit. But I took a bunch of straight shots, and ever since, whenever I drink it, it just makes me sick.

You should try Belvedere, its aimed at a similar market to Grey Goose but its much nicer in my opinion.

To the OP I like vodka, basically all I drink when I'm in a club is Vodka and red bull and jagerbombs, I never really drink it when I'm home though Im more of a beer guy then.

When I used to drink, I could drink Vodka like it was water. I loved it. Now that I don't drink, alcohol doesn't seem that appealing, but my mouth still waters if someones got Vodka there.

I like certain brands/flavours. I'm not a huge fan of Smirnoff, unless it's the ice kind and I'm adding more vodka to the bottle. I much rather prefer Absoult and Crystal Head.. All in all, I'm more of a tequila person.

My favorite. I like mixing it with various things... Apple juice and Monster work well. Legit vodka drinks are good too though.

Yes , it is really great . My favorite is Absolute Russian and Smirnoff . Like my people says , " Water is not good in boots , or even in stomach " , so , vodka is mine elixir of youth ... xD

Smirnoff is one of the cheapest vodkas you can buy. But once you start drinking the better stuff, you can't go back. Smirnoff almost burns and tastes like hand sanitizer to me. I spend the extra money on smoother vodkas that mix better and I can drink straight on occasion.

Generally anyone from a REAL vodka drinking country would disagree with you and all you other ''drink mixers'' out there.

Vodka is a drink to drink straight end of story really... A truly high end vodka is not meant to be used for mixing drinks.

As for ''burning'' and ''cheap stuff'' children and amateurs should stay away from hard liquor. Once you've downed enough shots in your life you learn how to not get burned and once you learn how to sip properly then you can claim to be a professional alcoholic.

Personally... Hard to say I used to drink it a lot but it's not a drink I'd say I enjoy for taste. It is a great drink for a group of people who know when to drink how much to drink and who to drink with.
Though usually it ends up being a drink for people who can't get home because they live on the 2nd floor.

I do love the ''social ritual'' we have with it. Good company, lots of snacks and foods to go along and lots of spare time + a guitar always = huge fun.

Another good thing about vodka is that if it is decent in quality it really is the least hangover inducing drink there is.

Vodka! I love it, it's almost the only drink I like. I prefer Stolich or Absolut mostly, vodka is pretty expensive here so my friends don't buy much. And I'm too much of a girl to drink it straight, so I mostly mix it up.
