I love old tech, and I'm there nking about buying an old PowerBook G4 from eBay, there are e many comparability issues with the old PowerBooks as they still run on power PC CPU's, meaning ythey won't run any osx software passed version 10.6(I think it was that version). So effectively you'd be stuck using all the olde software, my question is, do you think its realistic t still use an old power PC machine in 2014?

I still have a typewriter built in the thirties that I use on a regular basis.

It's up to you whether you think it is still worth using, but if you use a combination of modern and old tech, it would be pretty cool :)

depends on your use for it. if you just want to bring it to school to take notes or to browse VT, it should be more than fine.
the main issue is that it's too old to run many very "intensive" websites, games, and applications. It would struggle with things like youtube videos, as an example.

well, my G4 did at least.

It is realistic for writing essays and light web browsing... Im not sure anything more than YouTube would be smooth though since it is really old now.
