This is a thread for those of us (un)lucky enough to be born with celiac. Share your story. Complain about the woes of celiac. Encourage your fellow sufferers. This thread is for you.
Here's a bit of my story...
I've lived with all sorts of digestive ailments (to put it nicely) for years. It wasn't until recently however that I was diagnosed with celiac. My doctor had told me it was lactose intolerance or IBS but had never even considered celiac until my mom mentioned it.
So, here I am, only a few months later, off of gluten and living the good life. Just kidding. Gluten free sucks. Nothing with gluten can even touch my food, or else I get sick. I still have my lactose intolerance, plus a bunch of other intolerances that I have to keep in mind when selecting each meal. I'm trying to do a better job of eating healthy, but I really like junk food, especially candy.
Anyone know some good celiac/gf books or videos? Or just nutrition and healthy living books or videos in general? I love medical stuff so any suggestions related to medicine/health are much appreciated.
