This Fall I want to get into a routine of exercising. Since it's Summer break I mostly just go on walks every day or two, but this Fall I'm most likely going to be doing yoga. I was wondering if you had any tips for strength training. I can do pushups, but how many should I do a day? And are there any other strength exercises you can suggest? Nothing to hard, though. I'm trying to get myself adjusted.

For really basic stuff. Just do push-ups and sit ups. Like 50 of each everyday. They don't have to all be at once, you could do 10 each 5 times a day. Slowly you'll get stronger and be able to increase the amount.

But try something like that for now.

I've gotta agree with Dark on this one. tbh it doesnt seem very healthy to doo too many oftem, i do situps and idk what it's called, lifting myself up. 50 of each is a fair amount :)

Agreed.

Also remember to pace yourself- accomplishing an exorbitant amount may seem more effective and rewarding than small amounts, but your body will not thank you in the end.

Remember, it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt! Make sure the someone isn't you! Injury is bad for obvious reasons, but it will ALSO set you back significantly- you need to recover to avoid permanent damage.

Also, make sure you stretch and warm up. Listen to your body. If something starts to hurt significantly, stop. If it keeps hurting for more than a couple hours, halt your routine and see a doctor.

I agree with Dark here as well.

Whatever you do, make sure you know your limits. I tried lifting 100 ponds once, and I had the worst headache of my life.

I think a variety of gentle exercises to start with rest days.

Swim - jog etc are good just ensure what you do you do properly and do not strain.
