How to have an interesting conversation?

I recently got a girls number thatreally like but I can't think of stuff to say so they conversation kinda gets boring( if it wasn't already). Is there any tips you can give to have some good conversation. Is the best way to get to know her by asking questions about her self or is there a better way? Thanks in advance!

talk about something you both like. Like If you both like cars or something, whatever. Be like friends.

I have had this same problem too many times. I'd say if you can get her to video chat, that is a better option. It is easier to talk to them when it is face to face in my opinion. That is, if you talk to them in person often. Try to make conversation about mutual interests, like CharlieHorse said. That works well, too.

Always keep the conversation going. Never let it continue with simple one-word replies. Ask her anything. Ask her what her favorite things are: Favorite color, animal, flavor of ice cream, movie, food, weather. Anything to keep her interested. It helps the conversation flow and you get to know her. Never complain to a girl. Make it seem like you care about only her.

best to have some random thing ready you can talk about if you need. Say a local event or band she would like etc.
