I just got done reading Flowers For Algernon and HOLY COW

This is not your stereotypical sad story

This is an adorable, cerebral, but romantic and sentimental story that KICKS YOU IN THE NARDS WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT

I feel like I watched a good friend get ran over by a car after a heart-to-heart chat now, I really do.

Any other sad stories you enjoy? (I'll probably add more later.)

Feel free to tell why, but no spoilers, please.

David Copperfield and Far From The Madding Crowd were two that made me cry but maybe it is because I get too easily involved

Ahhh My Sister's Keeper sounded like it would be sad. That's a fair portion of the reason I refuse to see the movie. :P

Which, it's funny. My favourite movies tend to be sad and depressing, or at least dark and cynical. But I don't like sad movies. I don't know either.

TFIOS intrigues me, but I already know how it's going to end! Stupid internet. Stupid Tumblr.

I like John Green, even though I haven't read any of his books yet. Like, I'm motivated to give it a read just because. He seems like a neat guy, and I'm curious as to how that translates into his writing.

The end of Odd Thomas made me cry, and I was so pissed that I was tricked.

Ah, I've been meaning to read these, but was kind of apprehensive about it because I thought they might make me cry :P

FFA Is kind of a cruel book, because some of the sadder moments totally blindside you. Not cool man.

The end of Odd Thomas made me cry, and I was so pissed that I was tricked.

This is another one I've been meaning to read :P

I have only read a shortened version of Flowers for Algernon in English class, but I really would like to read the real, full book. Anyways, my answer. The Fault in Our Stars almost made me cry(it's difficult to get me to cry). Allegiant(the last Divergent book) also almost made me cry.

Most recently, Looking For Alaska. I'm not going to spoil anything, but I know someone who is very similar to the character in the book that has some troubles, and when the shit hit the fan for the character, I cried because I imagined it happening to that friend. :(

I've only read the novel, so I can't really compare, haha

I've heard that Looking For Alaska > TFIOS , I've heard it's his best book. Plus, I actually HAVEN'T heard spoilers there yay

Looking forward to that one

The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien made me pretty emotional.

That one sounds vaguely familiar, what's it about?

It's a bunch of short stories about this guy and his platoon when they served in Vietnam. I'm a sucker for military stories and novels, so it really got to me. :P

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
The Fall of Five by Pittacus Lore (because I don't like huge plot twists and demise)
