Gotta start somewhere. If your that insecure do workouts at you house for about a month or so and then start going to the gym on top of that.

yea if your insecure there's nothing we can tell you but to try to get over it.
no one is going to judge you at the gym
and if they are just don't pay attention to them

Don't be insecure about your body ( I know its hard not to but its possible ). If you think about it , you have to start somewhere. Other guys may judge you but they had to start out with NO muscle as well, they just had a head start ...in a way ....

i don't think any one else at the gym will be thinking about the scrawny kid. Would you be particularly young there - in which case all the more reason no one will be judging you or anything for not having much definition. Teenage boys tend to be scrawny and hey, some of them probably have so much muscle it makes their head look super small and silly, lol

Cover as much of your body as you can. Wear long pants and a long shirt.

if you don't have the equipment you could wear either long clothing or more baggy clothing
But otherwise I doubt anyone will pay much attention to you unless you look like you need help, most people are worried about getting in shape or staying in shape...:D Good Luck getting buff

If the other guys are judging you for not having much muscle they really need to re-evaluate there lives and its direction....

Well everybody at the gym has a different body so there will be people with worse bodies than you, you've got nothing to worry about

I have this exact same problem, about being super skinny. But tbh, the other guys at the gym will understand that you are trying, because if you weren't you wouldn't be at the gym in the first place.

OK, well if you go and work out you'll have way more guts than me ;) I'm very self-conscious about my body and that sort of thing, but I agree with all the people that have posted that, as hard as it is, try to be confident in your own skin and don't be worried about working out with other guys who may be bigger than you. Go for it, and yeah, you can always keep your shirt on :) Try not to both thinking about what other people might be thinking - cos you'll never know and it'll only be a waste of time and energy, and they probably won't be thinking about you at all

you can make a start - for sure some gyms will be full of big muscle but maybe you can pick a gym or better just go and work out.

Well dude , muscles are one but strenght is other ... I doesnt matter if you are not athletic builded ( a lot of mucles everywhere , big biceps , triceps and abs or shil like that ) ... It more imporatant to you are strong than muscled ... Me , for example ( tall 192cm and 105kg , so I look like tank . Massive and tall ) .. I am not athletic , far from athletic , but I am veryyy strong , so I dont care about muscles .... I went few times at gym , there was a lot of people , I putted about 120kg on bench , they laughted me because they thought that I can not lift that weight ... They were wrong , I lifted 120kg for 7-8 times in 4 series , so after all that lifting their faces were like shit ( they couldnt belive ) ... So , firstly you must have genetics for that ( my grand grand father was really strong man ) and second , If you are not strong , just fuck off them ... Many of them started weak , so enjoy in your life ...

Just go and start. Everyone has to start somewhere so eventually, you'll gain muscle. You could try having a trainer, too.

Any real bodybuilder, or someone who is in to fitness will have more respect for you if they see you going in and working hard than they will have disrespect for you because you aren't as big, you have to start somewhere and doing so has far more mana than not.

I don't think anyone at the gym will care what you look like. The main thing is that you are out there, trying to make a positive change. That's the only people will notice.

Totally agree with this - when I started out I was pretty uncomfortable but did my homework and researched a couple of things on the net and even found some animations and videos for certain free weights. I kept mostly to myself at first and when people started noticing I was a dedicated regular they came up to me and started chatting, giving tips and even offering to spot.
No doubt I must have looked like a scrawny and complete dork in the beginning but if you're dedicated you pick up technique (and muscle fast) and start feeling a lot more comfortable going to the gym.
