Ok, so currently, I have a subaccount under my mom's primary account. Is there any way I can separate the two and make my account into a primary individual account? I don't want to make a new email because I have an Apple ID associated with it.
Thanks in advance.

I didn't know email accounts could be made that way.
But if that's the case, then I would imagine that the only way to separate the two would only be accessible through your mother's primary account. So unless you know her login, there's not much to do.
You cant just update your email address to transfer your Apple ID?

I know her login but I'm not sure if you can change emails for your Apple ID. You might be able to; I haven't tried.

Perhaps you might want to make your own email account -- in addition to your current one -- and get a bit of independence(but obviously don't if that will cause any tension with restrictive parents).
You don't need to transfer anything besides your contact list, just instruct every person who emails you to use your new email. Your old one can now function as a mailing list or newsletter collector.
