I am very open with my parents. My parents want us to be open and feel free in our home. They said if we are afraid in our home, we are not free, therefore this is not a home for us. A home is your solitude, a place to be safe and comfortable. They made that for us. I can tell me mom and dad anything and won't hesitate about it. Sometimes I would just say it without thinking.
