So I've been working out with my high schools cross country team to prepare for the season, and I noticed that a lot of the other kids (both girls and boys) wear spandex to train in (nothing over it) They say that it's a lot more comfortable then shorts. I'd like to try it, but my concearn is that, on most of the boys, you can see a clearly defined "bulge" and oftentimes make out the outline of the penis through the material. I know that they wear it and don't care but I'm not sure how non-runners may react to seeing me wearing that and possibly the outline of my genitials. I'd really like to try it but not if people will be offended.
So my question is, to both genders, do you feel that this is OK to run in? Thanks for your opinions.

I would think just wear what you want and if you do go spandex then for sure you will not be the only one and how many people will see you anyways.

Compression gear imo is a scam, it doesn't actually help you at all while you run, only helps a little with recovery. But if you want to wear it just for comfort and don't want people being freaked out by your bulge my advice is thicker or even two pears of underpants, jockey models do it to a a smoother looking bulge

Wear what ever makes you comfortable. Look at the US soccer team. Some wore dark blue spandex shorts for practice and although it was dark, you could still notice the bulge. Look at any sport in the Olympics, professional stuff and even college, any sport where guys wear spandex at all will show a bulge. Its natural. Like chicks wearing sports bras. They help support their breasts but it doesn't hide them.

A lot of people wear spandex at my school. But the one boy, we were sitting in the bleachers. We saw him talking to a girl and when he'd walked away, he had a huge bulge. He couldn't hide that thing. Then he walked right pass us. I thought it was going to come out for a second. It was going upward. The staff or anyone said anything to him. But I like seeing guys in spandex to see their curvatures. :-)
