If you could get into any college in the world and money wasn't an issue, where would you go? Would your undergrad choice be different from your grad choice? What would you major in?

I'm thinking about majoring in Experimental Physics and minoring in aerospace engineering. I'd like to get a job in the space industry some day, but if that isn't possible I'd also like to keep my options open.

Now for the physics/engineering combo, MIT is probably the best school in the country, and I've heard the people and social life in there is amazing.

But if we're just talking pure physics/math, I've heard that CalTech is way better, but also much harder than MIT. I've also heard that most Caltech students are socially awkward freaks with no lives.

Another thing to take into consideration is financial aid. Of course, grad degrees in physics are usually free, but I'll still need financial help for my BA, and MIT is supposedly very helpful to providing financial aid to poorer students.

Maybe I'll get my BA at MIT where I can get a good base in physics and engineering, have a fun social life, enjoy myself, and receive financial aid, but when I enter into grad school go to Caltech where I can be more serious about things really delve deep into my physics research.

Of course, if I don't get accepted into either there's always RICE, UT of Austin, Harvard, Berkley, and plenty of other great schools.

What about you?

Going somewhere for art / design school has always been my dream. I have one of the best schools practically under my nose, but there's no way in hell I could afford it, even with a LOT of help form my parents. Plus, how would I expect to pay off that tuition if there are very little jobs to be found, and forget about finding a job with decent pay. I guess in reality, this is true in most fields; large influx of new grads + few jobs = competition, but especially in art / design.

Well, in reality I'm going to community college and double-majoring in marketing and psychology. Bleh. I'm not super thrilled, but whatever. Art was really the only thing I wanted to do.

I want to be a historian/politician so my three dream colleges are Georgetown, American, George Washington Universites. I'll accept colleges like Howard, Clark, Elon, Carnegie Mellon or even Emory as they have decent political and history dept.

The majority of the people who dream of attending college or a technical school are very concerned about the cost. The good news is that there is plenty of financial aid available to students that will make their education more affordable. However, the Obama Administration, in the interest of clearness and transparency, rolled out its new easy-to-understand financial aid (http://personalmoneynetwork.com/moneyblog/2012/07/25/financial-aid-form/) form on July 24. The federal government is recommending universities to look at the brand new "shopping sheet" for the 2013-2014 school years.

I guess some art and design school, like the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. I don't really have an interest in Ivy League Schools, even if I could afford it and had the grades for it.

If I were an American law student, I'd try for Michigan State. Thankfully, I'm Canadian, and the quality of our law faculties is pretty uniform, so it doesn't really matter where I go as far as the quality of my education is concerned.

I'd choose University of British Columbia for the scenery, lack of winter and weed.

I want to go to Yale, but I'm a Stanford legacy kid, so it might be easier (plus the fact that it's not an Ivy) for me to get into there.

My dad wants me to go to Stanford, but I'm not sure that it has a good English program. Columbia has a good one that I want to check out.

If I go to Yale I hope (I'm not sure) that they have a study-abroad program. I'd really like to go abroad and study in Europe like my cousins, even if they do tell me horror stories about it lol.

I know you might have heard this from a lot of people, but please be careful and do your research about the Ai schools, as I have heard a lot of things about how they are a scam. Just be careful is all I'm saying... you might want to see if their game design program has any accreditation, a.k.a. if it's a legit program.

Check these (https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=A86.J7pG.e9Tx2gAYtBjmolQ;_ylu=X3oDMTByc25qcnVyBHNlYwNzcgRwb3MDNARjb2x vA2dxMQR2dGlkAw--?qid=20121016020947AAy9eQ4) links (http://ai-is-a-scam.deviantart.com/journal/The-Art-Institutes-are-a-scam-227939086) out to get started if you haven't already.. Good luck!

I'd love to go to Julliard but I'm probably going to Seneca College in Toronto since it has the program I want. Plus going to school in the States is stupid expensive and not worth it, in my opinion.

Hi, I'm new here!(: anyway, I really wanna go to medical school. I know that it's a dream that will not be a reality but I wanna be an obstetrician. I guess ideally I'd love to get my BA at USC in biophysics. And then go to medical school at USC. I really think I'd totally love to go to Harvard (obvs) but I just don't know if I'd like the east coast. So I'll stick with usc, & maayyyybeeee something in Northern CA.

Realistically however, I'm tossing up a degree in nursing, or athletic training. If I do my BS in nursing id then wanna get my masters in midwifery. So I lean towards that since I know it's more in demand and better pay & hours. Whereas, athletic training just seems like so much fun! Again, I'm not sure. But I do wanna go to USC, possibly UCLA.. Ugh.. I'm actual gonna talk to my teacher at school this week about all this. (:

A small place with small classes that are close and dedicated to real learning and working as a team with the teacher being one of us in the class, and not super-authority figure. It seems like the best way to learn.
I'd like a place with a lot of support, and social opportunities. Maybe an art school would be nice, except i suck at art and am seriously unable to express myself in any way in real life. :/
idk maybe i shouldn't go to college. I don't know what i'd study anyway. :/

Because of our school differences between the UK and USA. I'm going to post university instead of college because then I can actually Major in one thing and not multiple.

Since Oxford and Cambridge do not do the course I would like, my next best university would be MIT. I would go ahead and major in artificial intelligence and try and get into work with IBM or Google in the AI jobs.
