Who all plan on joining military and or law enforcement agency?
I plan on doing a stint in the marines or navy and returning home to become a police officer.

Going into law enforcement is one of my career choices at the moment. I haven't completely made my mind up yet though.

If I join the National guard and help disaster victims is there a chance I could be forced to join armed combat or support the military?

I'm willing to go overseas, I just don't want to support or participate in violence.
Although, getting PhDs takes a really long time, and I should probably go to college as soon as possible instead of messing around the globe for years on end.

They do get into combat and fight. They have to shoot and everything.
Depending on what you wanna go into a lot of times trade school is better.

Trade School? Not for physics. :D Nah, I'm thinking something more along the lines of MIT, Caltech, maybe Rice, something like that. The undergrad degree I'll have to pay for with grants and scholarships mostly, and physics grad degrees are free as long as you're willing to work as a teaching or research assistant for the university.

Yeah trade school is better for some career/degrees. Right now I'm doing night school for an associates in welding.

I was thinking of the Police as a specialist - diver.

You'd have to go to a big agency like in California or Alaska
