hello I joined this website without a parents permission and when they found out, they said i could not have an account on this site. but i allready had an account, and now i need you to delete it. or ban it. or something so that it is gone.:( thank you for making this web, it helped me out but now i need to leave it. thanks, and goodbye.

We can not delete accounts. You simply log out and never come back.

I recently told my mum that I am a active VT member, showed her the site and she did mention that the phyciatic with serious mental illnesses shouldnt be allowed because the majority of us are not councillers or doctors, but I settled her nerves by saying its a teen to teen advice site not a ask a expert site.

Yes my parents know I'm an active member and they've accepted it and don't mind. We cannot delete user accounts because they may decide to come back and turns out the account doesn't exist.

So you just have to log out and never come back. I'm sorry to hear that you are leaving us. Best of luck to you

My mom saw the cutting and self harm section and almost freaked. She asked me why I was viewing that, and I kind of just avoided the subject. Anyways, it sucks your parents won't let you on, but we can't delete or ban your account unless you provide some REALLY good reasons, and in this case, the reasons aren't good enough to warrant a full out deletion (I'm presuming).

VT is a place where people can discuss a variety of issues and some of these issues can be very sensitive. Parents may not like the idea of their kids being "exposed" to these issues. Another thing as well parents may not like the idea that their kids may have issues with cutting, self harm, depression or a variety of psychiatric issues.

There are so many reasons why parents wouldn't like this place.

It's mainly b/c the parents think that "Oh my kid has mental issues." It's not like that at all. It's just natural concern

As I said, once parents see that their kids are on the computer than they want to know what's going on and eventually find a virtual community.

But it's natural for parents to have concern for their children especially during these years with all the dangers out there. And that's probably the main reason that they hate this place.
