I told a few friends of mine who know the girl I like (who will not tell her) that I like her. But a lot of them are telling me to tell her how I feel after she has completed her final exams. I have left asking many girls who I like too late and they end up being in a relationship with another guy the time I tell them I like them. I don't want this to happen again. I don't know what to do. I am already friends with her, don't tell me to develop a friendship with her first because I'm already friends with her.

4 months till the exams and the exams will be about 1 month with her certain subjects.

See if you want to tell her and then start dating, her studies will obviously be affected. 5 months is a long time but you could tell her and then if she feels she can balance her attention towards her studies and you which is generally tough, you could either start dating or wait if she asks for time until her exams.

I agree with Pan. You can tell her, but make sure she only starts dating you AFTER her exams are done (dating really does negatively affect one's test results). I'd advise that judging by what you yourself have said about asking girls too late. Good luck :)

or what you want is simply a confirmation from her whether she'll like you back or not?
have been thru similar things like this, and i agree, 5 months is hella time to wait for something that you don't know exists or not.
just be sure what you do is what you want!

How do you think I should tell her I like her. I was thinking of telling her "I like you. I know your doing your final exams but I feel you should know I have feelings for you."
Do you think I have it under control or should I tell her something else?

You need to find the right moment. The words are ok, but the context needs to be right. You can't just mention it randomly out of the blue, but it needs to be a kind of nice, cozy moment. Perhaps during the intermission of a school concert or play (if ur school has them), or take her out on a picnic in the park or drinks. Something like that. Good luck
