How can i help?

A friend of mine that I met and chatted to often from VT has been very ill, he self harms and has a mental health problem.
He hadn't been on here for a while and I just found out he had attempted suicide and is in hospital.

Obviously I can send him messages till he's back home again, when he is and hopefully we can talk again, I'm not sure how to talk to someone that has done this to themselves.
I'm also upset that maybe there was something I could have done or said that could have stopped this from happening :(

It's not your fault- trust me. Don't get yourself down about it. Just let him know you're there for him, and that you're happy to hear that he's safe when you talk to him again.

At the end of the day, he controls himself. You did what you could. You were there for him when not a lot of other people were. You did your best, you did good.
