I'm not sure if any of you remember, but a few months ago Amazon, along with a few other websites (Google, Facebook, Dropbox), got hacked and they told everyone to change their passwords.

I changed my password for Amazon and everything was fine until I discovered that I can no longer sign into the Amazon app on my Android phone.

I can still sign in on the Amazon website on my laptop so I know I haven't got the password wrong or anything like that. The app knows I've entered the correct password, it just says that my device is not authenticated.

I'm not sure if changing my password has anything to do with not being able to sign in on the app, these two events took place some time apart (changing password & noticing I can't sign in for the first time).

I've cleared the app cache, deleted all app data, uninstalled and reinstalled it and all that stuff, I think I'd have to fix it somehow in the settings on the website.

Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks.

Definitely take a look into the settings. Some websites and programs require you to authenticate your account when you sign in from a new device to make sure it is you. See if they sent you an email or something about it. Sometimes they will do that.

I just saw this -
https://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?docId=1000626391
so maybe step one about

" Open Settings and navigate to Unknown sources option (under Applications or Security depending on your device).
If Unknown sources is already checked, you can skip this step.
If unchecked, tap the checkbox and then tap OK on the confirmation popup"

Nope I already have that checked.

I've looked and I can't find anything in the settings of the Amazon website related to authentication. It worked before perfectly, but for some reason it just stopped letting me sign in :/
