Idk , I am a 15 year old who can sing as high as Ariana Grande ( I have BIG nodes though ) so I can do the same thing Adele did with her voice before her surgery , thats what makes mine unique . I don't know if weight effects your voice it may .... Hope this helps

I'm 99.9% sure weight doesn't effect your vocal chords.

But if I'm wrong, please correct me.

How could affect your vocal cords

Weight can't but nodes can. Your vocal cords are 2 muscles that viabrate really fast and air passes through them thus giving you your voice. They have alot of little blood vessels that are fragile ( yelling , screaming etc. ) can make them busrt and blood will cover your vocal cord and it become a little bump, the body automatically starts healing itself so it makes skin grow over the bump ( making a node ) Now if your vocal cords can't viabrate correctly , you sound hoarse and it can effect your singing , pitch , range , tone of voice etc.

I don't think weight affects vocal cords specifically, but I believe there was a study that showed guys who weighed more progressed through puberty faster or started it earlier.

Soprano? A choral soprano would typically be expected to sing up to A5 and some pieces go higher still. An alto would only be expected to go to E5, about a third lower.

It is possible for a guy with a changed voice to sing the alto range using a technique called falsetto. You'd know if you were doing this because it feels very different from your speaking voice and the power is much more limited. For most guys the upper limit of falsetto is about E5, i.e. the top of the alto range though some can go higher. I can manage G5 on a good day.

By comparison a boy with an unchanged voice and with the right technique would be able to sing the soprano range in "normal" (modal) voice.

You might need to ask people around you whether they think your voice has changed or post a recording so we can listen.

Vocal nodes are a well know problem for professionals who have an unwisely busy concert schedule, have poor technique or a combination of the two but I reckon it is quite rare in a 15 y/o. What on earth have you been doing to get nodes?

There may be some very subtle change in sor far as the rest of the body is part of the instrument and vibrates in sympathy but the most important resonances are the mouth/throat and the spaces in the head. The effect of any other resonances is likely to be even less significant if you are close-miked typical of rock/pop singing than for acoustic singing e.g. classical and much choir singing.

Certainly losing weight is not going to change you from one voice type to another, for example soprano to alto or baritone to tenor. You may also find that with losing weight there is more space for your diaphram to operate and your breath control improves.
