I just figured its so they don't bang against each other all the time and make us lose our breath. Just a guess...

It's hard to keep two roundish objects sitting right next to eachother. I'm pretty sure one hangs lower for that reason

Yeah, when they get get close to the penis, the reason why is if they get to cold, they come closer to the body to warm up and when they get to hot , they go away to cool down.

Yeah they do (at least mine do) sometimes one Is bigger (and as a result heavier) than another. The purpose for this is so they won't knock together…because that would hurt.

I think if they were more level, they would probably bounce more together and hurt. There's no rule as to which hangs lower and varies from person to person.

Temperature mainly. Our core (innermost) temp should be about 37C, our testicles at 35C hence where they are. They tend to hang more loose when we are hot, and closer when we're cold

i'll go with Ezra's answer, it does make sense. and when it's cold they get up tight, warm they hang lower. your body does that automatically

The purpose is to not let them bash into each other all the time. If they were right next to each other, there would be pain in that area way too often.

I was told about temperature thing and since they are so sensitive, they need to be at a different height so it wont hit each other.
