This is for all of my fellow Minecrafters out there:

Yesterday, there was a snapshot that came out, the first one in a month in fact, called 14w25a which added a water monster, a water temple, a water boss and 4 new water oriented blocks. It also reimplimented sponge blocks, which now have a new look and a wet variety that can be dried in a furnace. It added Coarse dirt, whch is the dirt that grass cannot spread onto. And in addition, stone bricks can now be turned into the elusive cracked stone bricks in a furnace.

That being said,
What would you like to see in the next MC update?
When do you think 1.8 will finally come out?
And, After experimenting with all of the new blocks and mobs and mechanics, what do you think of the latest snapshot?

I looks good to me. I think Mojang should add mirrors to the game, they could have many appliances, and also allow the player's character to sit on stairs, not just standing above them.

new weapon materials with more properties (obsidian, etc.)
damage points made visible when attacking
health bars for mobs
more projectile weapons added (crossbows, guns, etc.)
elite versions of regular enemies with higher health/stronger attacks + better loot
an economy with a currency
implementation of character profiles that link inventory to the character rather than storing it in the world data
introduction of character classes with skill trees and different abilities(?)

the last one I'm not so sure about because it would be a major change to the core game and I don't think everyone wants Minecraft to be a full blown RPG. with that said there could be a "classic" mode for people who just want to build. Personally I'd play MC a lot more if it were closer to RPGs like Elder Scrolls and Borderlands. but the way it is currently gets boring to me pretty quick because plain old building and crafting isn't fun for very long.

i really like the bouncy slime blocks. but the changed enchanting system is really annoying sometimes.

Personally I'm looking forward to the ability to change your username. I hate my current one as I made it like 3 years ago.

It would be nice if they fixed that glitch that makes villagers stick to one door, or made it to where you can spawn villagers individually to live near certain doors. It just ruins the point of the villages and cities I've built.

the current NPCs are terrible, and they look like they were designed and coded in 10 minutes. they need a complete overhaul (like a lot of other things in the game.)
