We started talking in March, and even before we dated, we acted like a couple before he finally asked me out in May. Even though we only dated for a month and had a thing for 2 months, I really liked this kid. We would talk 24/7. We would hang out on school days until 2AM.
Things changed about a week before he broke up with me. He became really distant. He would reply once a day. It happened out of nowhere. I honestly have no idea what happened, everything was perfect.
Then he decided to break up with me, through text, last week. He said it was because of "distance" and that I deserve someone who could see me more than once a week. I think that's a BS excuse. I remember one time we had a conversation about distance and we both said distance doesn't matter if you really like the person. He doesn't even live that far, about 25 minutes. We sent a few texts, then he just stopped replying to me.
Anyway, his birthday is tomorrow. I want to seem like the bigger person, but I'm a sensitive person, so if he doesn't reply, I'll feel dumb and desperate. Should I say "Happy birthday", or no?

I would say send him a happy birthday to show him you care and that's it. Be the bigger person :)
I'm sorry things ended up badly between you two.

Do you honestly wish him a happy birthday? Sounds kinda like a d*ck, so why should you? If you want to get back with him or anything, you could always do that, or maybe just to be nice.

If he treated me that way, I wouldn't say a thing.
But if you want to be the bigger person, you should go for it. Don't sink to his level.

Would he send you a text if it were your birthday? There's your answer. :)

Honestly, unless your break up was super nasty, there's no harm in sending it.

^ Like Patrick said, there's really no harm in sending one unless you might be hurt if he doesn't text back, but I'm not sure why you'd want to send him a "happy birthday" text. From your story, he gave an extremely lame excuse for breaking up with you. It doesn't sound like he deserves it from you. If you still want to be friends, it might be a good opportunity to start talking, but I don't think it's worth it.

I think this is a fantastic answer. If you still think there's a chance at friendship or romance, go for it. If it won't lead to anything, I don't think it's worth it.

It depends on the person. I would send him a Happy Birthday text and give him a little peice of my mind while doing it but its really up to you. I had the same thing happen to me and ohh.... he thought karma was a b**** hehehe he had another thing comming .
