Mainly because vegan pies generally taste better than vegan cakes. A lot of pies are already almost vegan anyway.

Personally, I think that pies can tend to get a little too sweet for my taste. It's like... you know how, if you put jam on your toast, you put a thin layer? Pie filling is somewhat like jam, and there is a thick layer of it in between the crust layers. It just gets a bit overwhelming. I'll admit, I don't much enjoy cake frosting either... however, I love sponge cakes and just unfrosted ones in general. Also. ICE CREAM CAKES <3
