I find it by far more easier to write by hand than to type. It seems as if words simply come more naturally when using a pen and a paper, whereas I have to struggle when using a computer. Does this happen to any of you?

I'm okay with both, though I can type muuuuuuch faster than I can write.

Yeah, I type faster too. It's just that the writing is superior when I use a pen and paper, compared to the one written using the computer. As if I can't type quality text

That's my problem as well, it's more convenient to type!

I actually find it more easier to type when writing. Especially with my handwriting, it's so hard to keep track of what's going on.

I've handwritten a book, I've handtyped a book

Oh god, handwriting a book is a nightmare. An absolute nightmare. At least if it's on the computer, you can A. read what you typed, B. edit easily, and C. don't have to worry as much about losing where you put the dang thing.

I prefer handwriting. The clicking noises when I type don't let me concentrate, and I end up writing really slow.

I can't stand writing anything by hand, I type whatever I can.

I actually am able to express myself better by typing than I am by writing.

To be honest, I ADORE handwriting. I think it gives a more 'art' feeling to the whole thing. I've been typing lately though, as it's more convenient and when I want to change something, it's really annoying to see black ink spots all over the place. But if I had to choose, I'd definitely prefer writing by hand.

The only one time I wrote for artistic poetry was a sonnet, back 1 year ago.

I used a combination of writing and typing, jotting down notes and structure analysis on paper until finally achieving the verse, and then transcribing on the computer. A lot of the verses are missing or incomplete in the notebook and they have never been fully grouped during the execution of the sonnet.

I can type an essay in half the way it takes to write. Besides I have horrible handwriting

I can type faster than I write, plus when I write, after a while, my hand hurts like hell.

I type and write at almost the same speed. However, my handwriting is amazingly bad, to the point where I can barely read it...

Typing all the way.

I did NOT spend four hours per day perfecting the proper way to flourish an 'S' to clack on a keyboard haha

Actually I love handwriting over typing, since it's more personal but I also love typing because it's faster and just easier to do with schoolwork.

Agree, typing is far more useful. But when I have to write something more artistic, more delicate or sentimental/spiritual (i.e. not when I have to write a report for school) I prefer handwriting, since ideas seem to come more naturally and the complexity of the phrase increases.

Depends on what kind of mood I'm in, I usually write by hand what I plan on typing. Mostly, I prefer to type, it's faster for me & I can't doodle on the sides of my paper lol :-)

I find it easier to type than handwrite. My handwriting isn't too great and it is a bit discouraging when I have to write. I can get my ideas across faster and more efficiently when I type them. Also I like to share my works online too. So there is another reason.

I prefer typing when I write stories, I find it much quicker and it helps me quickly correct anything I messed up in, and it helps me find an specific part of the text I'd like to edit better. Though if I want to memorize something well, I find it better to use handwriting instead.

I can type really fast and I memorize the keyboard. I just prefer handwriting my things.

Depends on what I'm writing, scripts I type, mind maps I write/draw, short stories either, long stories I type because of convenience. I don't have problems doing either but in general I'd find it more convenient to type things.

Well, I'm completely the opposite of the OP. Sometimes handwriting just seems like too much work, and way too permanent. I like handwriting and have written a lot of good stuff by using it. However, I love typing so much more because it's efficient and just easier.

I'm Dyslexic and my vision sucks so both typing and writing is a challenge.
My teachers call my handwriting ancient Chinese and chicken scratch that should tell ya my handwriting sucks.

I'm the opposite! I type much faster than I write, and because I have arthritis (caused by Lyme Disease :(), I can't write for a prolonged period of time without my hand cramping and my joints being swollen for days.

Actually, I'm the opposite. I get more into a "rhythm" when I'm typing.
If I was asked this question 3 or 4 years ago, I would definitely go with handwriting, but now I type a lot more.
