Hey everyone. I haven't posted on here in awhile, which has to do a lot with my level of depression, but I'll save that spiel.

I'm having a bit of a crisis. I'm taking an online psychology class. It's very easy and I enjoy the material. But the past couple weeks have gotten away from me, because my father was recently laid off, so we have no health insurance and I can't afford the medication for my depression. Without it, I've been spiraling downward. Yes, very sad and poetic. >.< Anyway, I went online today and realized that I missed the deadline for three exams and two quizzes in my course, so I emailed the professor (omitting the fact that I didn't do it earlier because I was to busy not functioning due to sever depression), and she said there's nothing she can do to help me.

Now, this woman is a psychology teacher. Should I email her and explain the situation, including the fact that this is happening because of my depression? To me, it feels like a cheap shot, but it isn't a lie, and I honestly don't think it's fair for me not to have a chance to take the assessments at all.

Thank you!

Considering it's your only shot at getting to take the exams, I think you should explain to her, but also have an adult to back up your statement, so it doesn't seem like you're lying.

I think you should explain to her. I'm sure that she'll understand.

I feel like this is a good solution.

If she's sympathetic, she might even be able to be there to talk until you can figure out how to be on your medication again.

Yeah, I would go for it, she is a psychology teacher after all, she might be lenient

I will say you are quite lucky that she is a psychology teacher. I think that is your best shot. I'd give it a try. Keep me updated.

I think you should email and explain - also see if there is anyone else you can email also,

there must be others involed in the organisation of the courses.
