The smell of white out...

I personally like the smell of things like permanent marker and white out, while everyone else seems to hate it. Is there something wrong with me?

Yes it is related. If it goes too far it's known as substance abuse. So it is related to drugs.

And I like the smell too. And petrol. But be careful, if you smell white-out too much it can cause serious harm to your brain, so I've been told.

It's perfectly fine to like the smell. When you go so far as to purposefully inhale it, it's just like sniffing glue, or doing whippets or things like that. It can cause a bit of a high, and it may smell nice to you, but eventually it can cause brain damage. So be careful. Enjoy the smell when you have to use the stuff, but don't go crazy with it.

No, there's nothing wrong with you- a lot of people enjoy the smell of white out and the small high you can get from it, but as said before when overdone it can be dangerous. A girl got suspended from my high school freshman year for allegedly sniffing white out. She wasn't even sniffing it, just holding it up to look at the label, but the teacher assumed she was and thus she was issued an OSS, I think for 3 days. The white out sniffing fad that was running rampant through the school kind of died after that.

Hmmm... well thanks guys. I don't sniff it or anything like that, I've heard about people dying from sniffing things that seem to be not very dangerous, so I wouldn't do anything like that. It's just that all my friends and my siblings hate the smell, so, yeah.

My question is answered now so I will not mind if this is locked.

I like the smell too and I use to sniff it and act like i was high in class but afterwords it would always leave me with a headache so just be careful around it

I know, I don't sniff white out, I just enjoy the smell when it's floating around. I know that sniffing anything like that can potentially be bad, so I don't do it.

thats like this kid on my bus only he sniffs sharpie and then acts high and goes crazy just to get attention.
i like the smell but i dont abuse it.

As has been said, there's nothing wrong with liking the smell, but I woudln't advise sniffing pens to get high, it's not too good for you and gives you a hell of a headache afterwards.

Agrees. It may be able to get you a bit high, but not an insane must-do type of thing. Overall, the high is nowhere near worth it for the harm it does to your brain.
