Hi I'm in year 10 and i have my maths GCSE next year but i have trouble remembering things like trigonometry and Pythagoras. I would like someone that i could talk to about maths, a bit like an informal tutor, a friend. Please help, if you can leave a comment below.
Thank you,
Danny :)

I got an A in GCSE maths and I am currently doing A-Level Maths :D
I could help with you a little bit but I am very busy at the moment, when's your exam? My last exam is next week on Thursday.

Hi Plebble, I don't have the exam until next year so i have lots of time i just think i need a bit of extra help, i just can't afford a proper tutor and my teacher has 35 other students to help as well.

Ok cool, GCSE level trigonometry and pythagoras are basically imprinted in my mind now

I cannot really help - but can suggest maybe you browse a few library books as they can offer the same info but in a different way.

Have you thought about mnemonics

see some here and you can make up your own

Also check out Khan Academy (https://www.khanacademy.org/). It's a great resource for a whole range of topics like economics, science and programming but it specialises in mathematics. It has in depth tutorials on all the maths you learn in high school (and a lot of stuff from beyond high school), all for free and with no ads.

try writing all the formulas in a large-size paper, post them all around your room.. in that case, you'll be able to view all of them every time you're in your room. glance at them from time to time until they are transfixed completely in your memory ;)

I'm not really around much to help but just wanted to help calm your nerves. In year 10 I could remember absolutely no formulas at all but now here I am doing a maths degree and my head is full of them. Seriously by the end of year 11 after another year of doing maths you will find they stick easier. You could put posters up as suggested that would probably work, but honestly if your only problem is memorising them then I think you'll be fine it's just a matter of practice. If you can use them once you have them then you're already halfway there.

Well, I am only in grade 8, but am writing my Bachelor of science in economics at the Fernuni Hagen. I know things like integrals and trigonometric functions very well, and we covered pythagoras in school already. I could offer help.
