So, which side do you support in the Stormcloak rebellion? I support the empire, for one basic reason.

1 The Thalmor actually want the Stormcloaks to win. If skyrim became a seperate country, things may be better at first with Talos worship restored, but in the long run it would only be bad for Skyrim. When The Aldmeri Dominion invades the Empire again, and make no mistake, they WILL invade the Empire again in the future, the Empire needs Skyrim to help hold them off. Without Skyrims warriors the Aldmeri Dominion could easily crush the Empire, and if they conquer the Empire what's to stop them from taking Skyrim next? It's basic military theory. Divide and conquer.

Sigh, I just wish Elyswer would abandon the Aldmeri Dominion and join the Empire. Don't they realize that the elves are only using them in the war against the empire and that when the war is over they'll be slaughtered by the elves as well? I love the Khajit, but I hate the Dominion. I'm so torn!!!! D:

EH Imperial bootlicker, the Thalmor want to stamp out Talos. The one true Nordic god, nords died fighting for the empire and look how the Empire repaid them-they let the elves enter their homes and destroy their religion.

The imperials are cowards, the empire is dying and only the nords can defend and rule Skyrim.

I honestly don't know why I take it so seriously aha

TRAITOR! D:

The Empire is the only thing keeping the Thalmor from marching into Skyrim and taking over!

Wow. Even the debates about fictional politics get heated quick.

The funny thing is that everyone hates the Thalmor, that's like the one thing we can agree on

The Empire, no doubt. I feel for the Stormcloaks but Skyrim would be far weaker without the Empire to help protect it. If the Stormcloaks win, the Thalmor then have an easy, war-weakened target in Skyrim and a weaked Empire to attack as well. Skyrim might win in the short-term, but in the long-term both Skyrim and the Empire would lose, big time. Skyrim needs the Empire, whether they want to admit it or not.

I managed to find a way to do both sides of the story. In the same save.

Stormcloaks all day.

Ulfric is the only person with enough balls to stand up to the Empire and their lies.

Besides the Thalmor have the Empire in their pockets. They just let the "Emperor" lead until they take him out.

And what about when the Thalmor invade the Empire who without the help of Skyrims warriors lose? Then the combined forces of the Empire and the Thalmor will just be sitting at Skyrims border. Do you really think Ulfric can manage to hold them off?

You are saying the Empire will ally itself with the Thalmor?

I think Ulfric will lead Skyrim's warriors against the Thalmor and succeed, with or without the Empire's minuscule forces.

Plus, if they have the Dragonborn you're gonna have a few Dragons their too. lol

Not by choice, but when the Thalmor invades the Empire in the future they'll have no choice but to surrender or be obliterated. Remember, they only barely managed to hold off the Thalmor in the great war with Skyrims warriors. Without them, they do don't stand a chance.

You're joking, right? Do you seriously think Skyrim could actually hold off an invasion from the combined forces of the Thalmor, the Khajit, AND the Argonians, after they've alreasy conquered the Empire and stolen all of the Empires resources? There's no way. Skyrim wouldn't stand a chance.

The dragonborn is a valuable asset, but he's just one person. And his powers are miniscule compared to that of all the High Elf wizards.

Why would the Khajit and the Argonians side with the Thalmor? I really doubt they would.

Besides, not all of the imperial soldiers are against Ulfric.

But I think in the event of a Thalmor invasion the Empire and the Stormcloaks would put aside their differences to fight a common enemy.

First of all I wish I could join the Aldmeri Dominion instead of "helping" them. I am strong Pro elf. Though since I couldn't do that I sided with the Empire. Why not the Stormcloaks you ask? Well it's pretty obvious they are racist and ill informed. They think every elf is a spy which is not correct most of the time. The Nords call the Empire weak because they signed the White Gold Cataract (whatever it's called). The Empire isn't weak because they signed it because if they didn't there would have been a High Elf on the throne in Cyrodiil.(not complaining there) Of course the elves made it seem that they had the advantage but both sides were struggling. The Empire should keep Skyrim because think of it as the first gate of protection. Nords even though racist are a strong race and is a must have in wars. There are somes cons siding with the Empire also though. The King is horrible and that's why I killed him. The Empire is hugely corrupt. An example is the Emperor hand picking the High Jarl which is the rights of the current Jarls to decide. They say that Ulfric murdered the High King but it's tradition for a jarl to challenge the High Jarl to become it. If you're against the Empire..well say bye to your head. If you're against the Stormcloaks...nothing happens well you're not a "true nord". Also maybe because of what America did, but Skyrim should have a right to break away from their country.

It seems I'm the only one nerdy enough to maintain that only my characters have opinions as to the situation:/

Skyrim forming a pact with the Redguards in High Rock - who hold the Empire in especially poor regard after they got sold out as part of the White-Gold concordant - is totally a possibility, and nobody knows about the Bretons, though I presume that if the a war did come they'd ally against the Aldemeri Dominion - of who the Argonians are not aligned with. Even if we presume the Empire falls quick, which it probably will; especially after how the DB quest-line ended, I'm doubtful that the Thalmor could take on and beat the combined HighRock-Skyrim-Hammerfell axis: the Redguards on their own managed to fight the Aldmeri Dominion to a standstill and force the Treaty of Stros M'Kai, like.

Why would the Khajit and the Argonians side with the Thalmor? I really doubt they would.
The Khajit are allied with the Altmer, since the Altmer claim to have ended the Void Nights.

Bosmer are sided with them, too.

I agree with the Stormcloaks, Skyrim should become an independent country. With a real leader to rule, like Ulfric, and freedom of Talos worship, it could develop and enhance its own culture, economy and military. If worse comes to worse and the Aldmeri Dominion invade, the Empire and Skyrim could create a military alliance, as even though bad blood exists after the civil war and Stormcloak victory, neither could take on the Dominion alone and would need to come together to even have a chance of winning a war. After, the Empire and Skyrim could exist as independent states and might even to be able to develop trade and better diplomacy between the two.

I can't believe I just wrote that much about a civil war that happens in a video game.

The Empire was the best ally possible for me in The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall so I'll go with them.

So you hate them for acting like nazis, but want to slaughter their entire race. Right. Makes sense.

Yeah, I didn't make any sense there. I take the slaughtering back. I just want them out of Skyrim.
