I have had the same boyfriend since my freshman year in high school and i am now a junior. He has already graduated and is waiting till i graduate so we can move up to Maine. Lately he has been acting really strange, he is not his immature goofy guy he used to be...he is a little more serious. I asked if there is anything going on that we should talk about and he said no. But i need help understanding what he means when he says "I love you the same amount, just in a different way". Please don't say he is breaking up with you because we are having no problems and that isnt even an option. Are there different stages of 'love' that I am not aware of? Any suggestions on what this means would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

If you think your relationship is healthy, and there's no way you two will broke up, then it's fine. However, it's a bit strange that he says he loves you "in a different way". I guess if you know him, and trust him a lot (since you two have been together for a considerable amount of time), then there's no reason to fear he doesn't love you, but I guess you could also ask him what he really means by that, you two are a couple, he shouldn't be hiding that kind of things from you.

Why do not just ask him what he means when he says that? Maybe tell him how it makes you feel and that he needs to make his feeling a little more clear to you .
